    I think it depends on your preferences. Some audiophiles may like the HTC one sound more than the BlackBerry. Louder doesn't mean better.

    No.....the HTC boom sound is tuned for bass based audio...the Z30 has a more full sound which is what audiophiles like better....not that it matters, but based on this video it wasnt even close.....now if he ran the same video with two rap/club songs the htc might have fared better. But no audiophile on the planet would watch that video and thought the HTC won.....it wasn't even close.

    He should have taken off the case and turned the z30 over for a more accurate representation of the sound.

    I don't know about you guys, but speakers are always a little louder when the sound has the ability to hit a solid object and reflect. When I'm taking a shower and want to listen to music, I place the speakers flat down against counter instead of turning the phone over and having the speakers facing upward.

    Regardless, both devices have excellent speakers. I'll take a video of a sound test between my z30 and my One M8 when I get it this Friday, and see how much HTC has improved them.

    Quite the contrary.
    The M7 has a little more kick with the bass due to the Beats EQ, but the M8 is louder and clearer, which is better in my opinion.

    I havent heard them, but sounds like you're sating their more balanced full sound like the z30. that would be an improvement.

    Yeah, they're a bit louder than my Z30's, but sound quality is definitely comparable. The M8 gets a slight win imo, but the Z30 isn't far off.
