So I love my Q10, but I have to admit the screen gets in the way of me doing important things sometimes. Anyone out there have a z10 and a q10 on vz running off the same line? Meaning you are swapping Sims between the phones when you are in the mood to carry the other. What happens to the simless phone? Can it be used over wifi (for apps and email)?

    Let me know

Ok that's good news... so what can and can't you get without a sim? I assume text messages phone calls and wireless data won't work. What about bbm? Wwill apps transfer oover?

I use mobile hotspot to connect my BlackBerry's to the Internet. If I want to, I can swap phones between one SIM card. "2 phones, 1 cu... I mean 1 SIM..."

So if I got the Z30 how would I active it? Take my sim out of the Q10 and then actiavve it and when I wanted to use Q10 again just take out the sim again and put it back in? Would my single blackberry ID play nice on both phones?

Don't you need to register your ESN with Verizon? The SIM is just for LTE connectivity. I'm wondering if you can actually "just swap SIMs" on Verizon like you can on GSM models...

I have T-Mobile and just swap sims, but the inactive phone can still do things like browse the Web, send and receive email, BBM (though the BBM in the device WITH your sim will be inactive while you're using the BBM on the other one), and then obviously you can still take pictures and video and use apps.

You can't text message or use the phone, that's for sure.

The first switch is the hardest. Once you have used the z30 you can easily switch between the two. You need to switch the Sim and go to your VZW online account to swap the phone. Pretty simple.

Or you could use "Multi-SIM", if offered by your provider. I'm on T-Mobile (Germany) and they do. I can use up to three phones with three sim-cards simultaneously (one number, one data plan). I can't call from one multi-sim to another, but when receiving a call, I can take it from any of my devices.

Unfortunately, you can't use one BlackBerry ID on multiple devices at the same time. So you have to decide, which of your "babies" you love most...

Don't need to do anything at Verizon. I swap all sims between Q and Z all the time (on Verizon). It is instantly recognized, and vmail instantly switches to new phone by requiring a pass code as soon as phone boots up. Perfect!! I use SMS backup to keep my text streams synced between phones.

Awesome! But tell me, what does the unsimmed phone so while the simmed phone is active? I read above you can't use the same blackberry id on 2 phones. So how do both work powered on and how does BBM act?

When you fire up BBM, trying to use the same bbid, you are asked to "switch bbm" to the new device. That deactivates it on the old device, so it simply does nothing. You'll have the icon still in the old device, but when you open it... it asks you to sign in with your bbid again... because bbm was switched to another device.

Nice that's good news. I basically want to take my Z30 with me as a wifi tablet and switch it when I feel fit

Depending on your carrier, you might be able to fire up a mobile hot spot on your Q10 for the Z30. Rather than going thru the pain of pulling the sim (have to pull battery on Q10 to do this, and the Z30 back is not the easiest to pull off either). This is what I do, and have both the Q10 and now Z30.

Yeah I have a mobile hotspot on my Q10. the only issue is that certain things like texts won't transfer to the z30 when its over wifi only. Thats why I'd love bridge functionality between the 2. Anyway I think this is the way to go. Now just waiting for verizon to get it so I can play with one

Hi, I just got a z30. I also have a Q10.... Would it be as simple as plug in the sim in the z30? Coz z30 is not yet available on vzw.
    Thanks for any comment

Ok, so took SIM card from the q10, plugged sim to the z30, and voila, it recognized my number immediately, called my house, it worked. Run internet, it worked....speed test clocked 25 down and 5 up.......this thing is so cool....I didn't even had to removed the battery as opposed to the q10.....
