I hear you need headphones to make it work.

But is there a way to record the radio coming in? If so what apps do that. Thanks!!

Not sure about recording radio. But yes you need to put the headphones jack in. However you can play it on speaker once the jack is in. Hope that helps

The headphones are required and are used as antennas for the radio, but you can switch the output audio to the speakers or bluetooth devices.

I'm not sure about recording the radio audio.

Correction. The radio will work as long as there is something plugged in the headphones port. With that said, use an auxiliary cord to send your signal to your recording machine. That should do it.

The FM radio option only appears when something is plugged into the auxiliary

Wish there was a Paratek antenna for the FM radio. All smartphones with FM are about the level of a clock radio in terms of discriminating signals.

So no one knows if there's an app that records audio from the z30? I figure if there's an app that can do that it could record the audio from radio. Right??

Reason I ask is sometimes I goto conventions where they broadcast out on radio and I need to record them.

Maybe one of the apps that records calls could do it but I don't know for sure. There are also just recorder apps. You could check out descriptions or contact their developers and ask.

According to its user manual, you can use the FM Radio in the Music app on your BlackBerry device to tune in to frequencies that broadcast FM stations and listen to all of your favorite FM stations. To use the radio, connect your headphones to your device. Your headphones work as the radio antenna. You will find more detailed guides with the use of the manual for BlackBerry Z30 Smartphone (http://help.blackberry.com/en/blackb...-10.3.2-en.pdf). Also, you can find other products' handbooks at online manual site, like Manualbirds.com. Hope that helps.

That is upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS update and do provide features as timer and recorder for FM radio. If FM radio have timers(time set ON and OFF ) and recorder function that is perfection.
