I want to get this phone, but I'm not wasting anymore money on BlackBerry until they get some decent apps.

I can't see that happening any time soon, sorry. They had their shot at the developers and couldn't get them to pull the trigger.

Who's gonna buy a phone on a long contract from a company that on the verge of folding, nobody is developing apps for and won't be marketed heavily? Add to the mix that stores won't want to allocate store space and it ain't looking too good.
It's all about the company sale now.

I would guess about 1 million over the first quarter they are out. Most people who wanted to update to BB10 already have and are locked into a contract. I don't see it being some saving grace or even a revenue generator...it will be another money pit and I bet they miss the launch date again too...

Not many unless by some major miracle suddenly all the popular apps become available for it. Besides BBRY is going for the prosumer market and not the consumer market now so I suppose popular apps are no longer a concern? Anyway, I may buy one just because BlackBerries are the best communications devices for my needs and I'm not a big app guy anyway. Still wish there was a banking app for Chase again.

I think this will actual do well. 5" screen is very desirable.

We shall see. I will get one for sure on the 15th.

Hopefully despite all the doom and gloom, I think it deserves to do well. There are a lot of things I look forward to doing on that 5" screen that I can't do on my Q10. You Tube,Flipboard, books, newspapers, games. Love my Q10 for phone stuff and quick, easy access.

Apple has a market demand advantage that allows them to force carries to offer early upgrades without penalties that other models will have. Even when a Rogers customer bought the "old iPhone" a few weeks earlier they could upgrade with no penalty. Let me give the disclaimer I have not worked for Rogers for two years and have not verified it is still happening.

    Posted via CB10
That's no longer the case..all major carriers no longer offer early upgrades since last year.

Couple hundred thousand at the most. This device is DOA. There's nothing that compelling about it enough to get non-Blackberry users to make the swtich. As for existing Blackberry customers, most will jump ship as nobody wants to buy a new smartphone from a maker that may not be in business next year. One wonders how many carriers are going to do what Rogers did just because the precedent was set in such a big way.

Think it will actual sell pretty well....for Bb10 that is. 5" phones are big right now! This screen size is more marketable as a flagship then a 4.2" touch screen phone.

Unfortunately, they're not going to sell until the company is purchased and announces positive plans for the future. Even if that is accomplished, they will still have troubles unless they come out with a fresh new marketing campaign. All in all, it's going to take a miracle for BB to sell 200k Z30's by years end.

I'm thinking they do about 25% better than the Z10. It will get a bump from BBM and the awesome 5 inch SuperAMOLED. Plus at some point the bad news will stop when they get purchased, and get the layoff over with. With much tighter inventory control, they could make some money on this one.

None... if the idiots that run BlackBerry don't start marketing their friggin products!!!
If it wasn't for CB, i would never have even heard of the Z30.
BlackBerry seems to have a desire for failure.

If the build millions, the price will drop drastically in a few months after they are written down.

I have no idea why anyone expects it to sell better than bbry does. Obscure launch, carriers saying they won't offer it in stores, crazy pricing, no advertising, no anything from bbry at all.

If this is the flagship that's going to save bbry, why didn't Heins bother to show up? Why do another half a$$ed staggered launch?

Lower than my first estimation. No rogers, few carriers in USA.

Reviews and feedback for device will be good but sales will Suck
