    Hey guys

I'm trying to get my Z30 from Bell unlocked, and the website I ordered the code from is asking for the MEP code. Guess they can't find it with the PRD.

I got to the OS Engineering screen but there is no MEP in Device Information.

I never tried to get this info on my Z10 or Q10 so I'm not sure if you need to look elsewhere in OS 10 to find the MEP.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks!

Microsoft would have had a lot more success with their browser of they called it Bang. Then you could tell your friends "I just Banged Angelina Jolie! "

It gets stuck on "Reading data from phone..." and never gets past that. I left it for about 30 minutes and nothing happens.

OK people you took the time to point them to a website why not just paste this and help people out

"MEP Reading is not needed for Blackberry Q5, Q10, Z10 Models.

The MEP Code identifies the lock version used on your phone. This is NOT needed for Blackberry OS Version 10 Software phones like Q5, Q10 and Z10 mobile phones. If you require an unlock code - you can order it instantly from the form above - just enter Model, IMEI (dial *#06# on your phone to find IMEI) and enter the Network your phone is currently Locked to - click Unlock Now, Complete Checkout and we will process your unlock and email you your unlock code. See our feedback (bottom left) from customers who successfully unlocked their phone."

I have tried to unlock my z30 with two different sources. The one replied I need a MEP code.

    Hi,

We weren't able to find your unlock code on an initial search for IMEI xxxxxxxxxxxx

The reason the unlock code wasn't found is because your PRD hasn't been added to the BlackBerry database yet.

Can you please give us a different piece of information so that we can find your unlock code. It's called an MEP and can be retrieved from your phone by following the instructions at:
    Retrieve Blackberry MEP Code

Then go to this link to tell us your MEP, and your order will be automatically processed.

I believe your MEP ID is called the PRD. It's available when you open the back of your Z30 ....same thing with the Z10. I just successfully unlocked my Z10 today. I used GSMLiberty. Took less than 3 hrs to get my codes for both MEP2 (network) and MEP4 (service provider). They didn't tell me that I only needed to use the first 8 digits of my MEP2 code. Got from their support today and then it worked perfectly. Next is my Z30.

Hope this helps. P.S. I'm on Bell too.

I got the same responses from unlockers I tried, and have found no way to find the MEP number they are requesting. I presume this only works for legacy BBOS phones. Who did you eventually get the Z30 code from?

    Hi

Here is a riddle for you

Outside of the original box of my TELCEL (Mexico) Z30, the IMEI says: 356966050765967

    From *#06# I get 3569660507659678

The IMEI should be 15 digits.

    Where is the problem.

    Thanks

It's the first fifteen digits. You can confirm this from Settings>About>Hardware.

BTW, you may want to delete your IMEI# from your post.
