This black background and white text is throwing me off. How do I change it so that the default background color is white and text is black, like how it looks in the Hub?

You can change Calendar, Text message, and BBM.
    • Calendar: Tap Calendar, swipe down from the top, choose Settings/General/ Slide switch to off for Dark Background/restart Calendar.
    • BBM: Launch BBM, swipe down from the top, choose Settings. Scroll down to Dark Background. Switch off as above.
    • Text: Go to Hub, tap the Menu (three dots) and choose Settings/Text Messages/Switch off Dark Background as above.

EDIT: You can also change the Contacts:
    • Contacts: Launch Contacts, swipe down from the top and choose settings. Switch off Dark Background as above.

I can't change it across the board? I don't like how the apps show the black background with white text. Hurts my eyes.

Pretty much that is it, I missed Contacts so I edited my post.
Supposedly 10.3.1.something-or-later will bring a theme choice for Hub.

That said, if you want a BlackBerry app to have that function, provide feedback on their site.
For third party apps contact those apps authors.
At this time, there is no global switch.

I changed it for text messages, but the virtual keyboard still shows black background with white characters.

    Bummer

You can change that in the Display settings. ... can't remember if it is only in 10.3.1 though. (which shouldn't be an issue in a few hours )

How do I change the color scheme?-img_20150219_101239.png

Yes it's on 10.3.1 Chris, not on 10.3.0 and under.

I just checked and the new release is not yet available for me (AT&T). Even tried BlackBerry Link and it says I have the most current version 10.2.x

10.3.1 is rolling out today. It all depends on your carrier. For example, apparently, Bell Canada has started already for some devices, but Telus has not yet. Patience

I believe US carriers are falling back on the tried and true method of sending updates - SMOKE SIGNALS.
