How can I fix a BB Z30 red light left of the speaker?

Hi! new guy here! :)
I could not find the same issue I have so I try to know what's happening to my device:

I have a (sort of) brand new Z30, BB10 os vers. 10.3.1.1784.
My father in law bought it but never used it, so after a few months he gave me this spectacular device (it really is!)

When i first turned it on, i noticed a little red dot just next to the speaker.
Then I had some problem (proximity and light sensor issue).

i looked everywhere on the internet and the only solution was provided by BB with a server uptade (if I'm not wrong)

tried to update the OS (latest one).
hard reset, soft reset, wipe, restored....

the red dot is still there... -_-

the worst thing is that it burns like hell and i even cannot make a call!

and the battery comes down way toooooo fast.

last thing i noticed is that when i restart the system the proble disappear, when the provider's network comes back, the dot comes back as well.

can anyone help?

sorry for bothering you, but it's a week that i'm trying to fix the problem worthless

I would have suggested reloading the os. Is it still covered by warranty? This will also bump the thread for other possible ideas

Looks more like a hardware issue. That little red light is a proximity sensor. It should stay off when you are using the phone for browsing but turn on when in a call. When it turns on the screen will go blank.

So yes... If you have warranty get the phone replaced.
