Has anyone tried the Belkin Miracast adapter to connect their television with the Z30?

BlackBerry products do not appear in the list

I have the Rocketfish Miracast adapter that works fine. Relatively cheap(30) when I bought it. How much is this Belkin one?

    I'm also looking for a miracast/widi dongle.

    On my List:

    Netgear PTV3000-100PES Push2TV
    Sony IM10
    Asus Original Miracast Streaming Dongle
    Belkin Screencast TV

All are about 65-100? which is a little expensive, but cheaper ones have a lot of bad reviews. They should work out of the box for my BlackBerry 10 devices and my Windows 8.1 devices. Any recommendations?

Thanks to this thread and the active list of available miracast adapters on the market, look what I was able to snag over lunch!

The last one at the Sony store! They got two the other day, one was purchased by an employee and I got the other.

Can't wait to go home and try it.

    Has NFC capability too.

I have 2 z30 and both work fine with the Rocketfish. Only noticeable thing that is annoying is having to hit WPS on the rocketfish before it connects.
This may be due to the fact that I switch back and forth between the two Z30. Perhaps if I had only one I would not need to do this? Haven't really had time to play with it to troubleshoot. Usually only have time to get it working before my daughters complains.

    Will do.

Damn just found out it does not come with an HDMI cable. Typical Sony. Rip you off on the small stuff.

    Need to grab a cord

Are you all able to "push" playing of copy protected movies over you BlackBerry devices to these Miracast receivers?

I have heard that DLNA media rendering won't work with the playing of copy protected movie downloads from BlackBerry World, so I am hoping this works.

    That's what I do.

I make my presentations only on my z30.

With the miracast adapter I can now freely walk about as I present. Now talk about cool.

OK, tried it. The Sony IM 10 I got today.

    Connection is easy.

Performance for PowerPoint presentation. Or document reading or use of tv as large monitor is very good.

Where it falls short is in the performance when it comes to music or video streaming. It gets choppy at random times. Doesn't matter if your phone is across the room from the device or sitting right next to it.

Does anyone know why? Is it due to wifi?

I have the netgear push 2TV. It works on Sony tvs pretty well. No copyrighted/protected media plays across it though. I have to use my hdmi cable to play movies.

Ahhhh ok it seems then that miracast is at best only good for photos and text/documents.

If one wants to play video or music, we need to use an HDMI cable direct to the TV.

What about bbm video, have you tried to see if miracast supports video chat?

How big is the netgear device? Would like to get the smallest unit available. Does your unit have Nfc?

I'm going to see if I can power the unit with a backup battery rather than plugging into a wall.

I got the Net gear PTV3000 on eBay for $55. I am happy with it running on the 1259 leak. Movies work smoothly across the room. Cannot use BlackBerry movie downloads because of DRM. It is powered for me by a USB port on my TV. It didn't come with an HDMI cable.

Do you think it's possible that running the leak will help with miracast performance?

Now that you had some time to play with it... Do you keep it? Does installing 1925 help?

I'm keeping my Net gear. I like showing pictures on the big screen. I believe the 1925 did make a good difference in the smoothness of the video streaming. Although a subjective opinion I do believe it's better.

There is no reason to spend a lot of money on a Miracast adapter. I have tried a bunch and found very few differences in performance.

This one works well and I use it most because it is small.

I also got the Best Buy Rocket fish one for $30.

I also tried the Netgear PTV3000.

Although the Sony is expensive, I will keep it as its built really well and I found it works as well when powered by a backup battery charger. Both my Sony power pack and BlackBerry one works.

Has anyone tried any of the cheapo ($20-$40) Chinese ebay models? Most are just dongles with HDMI output and Micro-USB cable for power.
Any issues with those? Especially with video streaming (which would be the most demanding data-speed wise)?

The one that I link to above is a cheap Chinese one. It works well.
