    I think this is a Telus issue. Just exchanged the phone and still no HD voice. Probably a network configuration thing.

    Which store did you exchange from? I want to go into that store and buy that phone in that store for open box price.

    HD voice just turned on for me tonight on Telus. The difference is night and day really. I could hear my caller on the other end significantly better than usual. I get the feeling that for HD voice calls to function, the carrier has to flip a switch somewhere on their end to allow the device to broadcast and receive calls in HD. Just my own personal thought. It's too bad it isn't consistently available cross-carrier as I would love to be able to talk to friends and family on other carriers with this level of call quality.

    Yeah it comes and goes, but for the most part I now have HD calls here on Telus whenever I call other Telus clients who have HD voice capable phones.

    here is Australia, Telstra was the first carrier to introduce the HD voice codec followed by Optus then the Vodafail (oops... i meant Vodafone, SORRY!). i've been getting the HD voice since my Z10 days and yeah, sometimes i couldn't get it as well. i think it depends on the area where you are located and whether the cell tower could serve you with the HD codec or just a normal EFR speech codec.so yeah, i'd say it's more to a carrier dependent not essentially handset dependent. if your handset is HD voice enabled then once your carrier has enabled the HD voice, it will be there for you, automatically.

    every BB10 has HD Voice but your operator must support it and it work on 3G network and also 4G. My only problem with the Z30 is that the speakers sound is not that loud.
