I painted mine last night with the Krylon Black Gloss. I think it looks okay. What do you guys think? I purposefully left a thin part of the silver to distinguish it from top and bottom, and the silver area is cleaned up a bit more now.

That doesn't look bad at all! But if I had a black Z30, I'd paint the chin Ferrari red. I think that would look pretty sick.

Personally, I think it looks very sophisticated. Chrome or aluminium would look really tacky.

I'm actually really tempted to print an Iron-man inspired chassis. I'd have to make my own case, though. I'd want similar edges as the P'9982, just with fiberoptic channels for a blue LED. Dunno how I'd power the LED though when the screen is on....

Why? Just leave it as it is. It's beautiful.

Just to be different, and to literally have the only Z30 in existence with an embedded fiberoptic channel around the edge that glows blue.

I sanded down part of the chin with very fine sandpaper, then I just used the Krylon Black Gloss to paint it. It's the one with primer already in it. Then just sit back and let it dry.

Hi I was probably one of the first to actually sand off the silver part only due to a drop and scratch, it is metal I personally think it looks better all black .the only thing I wish blackberry would have done is made the blackberry logo on the bottom stand out better ,as I do at times pick up the phone to answer it the wrong way... other than that have a look..

Except the sticker doesn't stay on and is so tiny that there's not a lot of adhesive area.

Not to mention why order something online and wait for it when you can do it yourself in minutes.

I understand how the silver can help locate the bottom but it chips and looks like hell. Also some of us prefer the all black.

I've painted mine a few times leaving a very thin silver line like the other poster and it blows away the silver chin for refined look in my opinion.

I've since removed the silver altogether and its a beautiful flat black that looks awesome and it too helps locate the bottom. It also really helps with grip.

To each their own but the black makes the Z30 look more current unlike the silver's 1980 zenith vcr look to me.
