I was also curious about how smooth the Z10 → Z30 transfer went for anyone, as I just might acquire one soon and obviously haven't done a BB10 to BB10 switch ever.

I have my Z10 data backed up, I'm planning to transfer it to the Z30 as soon as soon as I get the Z30.
I just loaded my BlackBerry z10 data back up to my z30. I have noticed a big flaw has followed through to the Z-30 I had a leaked 10.2 on the Z-10. When scrolling through the contacts it goes blank and I have to leave and come back. Really sucks.

Did you have the same leaked version or a more recent one on the Z30? If not, that's why. Restoring from a new build to an older build will cause corruption normally.
No it was the first 10.2 leak for the z-10. 10.2.0.1047. It had a bug when you would scroll through your contacts it would go blank. Sucks as it was very bothersome. Followed over to my Z30. The other annoying thing is the duplication of contacts. BlackBerry needs to fix this it's a major pain in the *ss!
Everything seems to have settled in nicely now. Just loaded up the android run time and installed Instagram. I can't believe how fast this device is. The boot up time is at least 50% faster than the Z-10!
I did! I don't know it can affect to the battery life or not! But all data was transferred to my new Z30!
I did notice that all softwares were not found under the Installed tab with BlackBerry World. Then, I selected to reinstall all. The great thing is all settings remaining the same!
Went great for me, downloaded the 1791 leak installed on the Z30, installed the radio file included in the leak thread, restored my Z10 to my Z30 and away we go, only issue was the Android runtime I installed the unlocked version, never tried all the fancy footwork to get it running with the one from 1791, had to get to bed... the unlocked android runtime worked great!
I had no problem at all. Switched sim card, media card. Then set up accounts and downloaded all apps. Did a security wipe on Z10, and passed it on to my son.
No problems for me...
Backup/restore went fine from the great Z10 to the brilliant Z30, just gotta watch when reinstalling your apps and the refresh interval for some of them as it can impact on the battery life.
The main problem I now have is bringing the wife up to speed with the Z10...and prising the chaotic android away from her!
Shouldn't be too much of an issue!
After you transfered your data did you lose your ported android apps that were not avaliable in the app world?
Thanks!

You mean sideloaded Android applications? A backup will not include sideloaded applications, so they won't restore.
However, if you resideload the apps before you restore the backup, most of your settings for sideloaded applications should still be there. If you resideload after, it will be from scratch.

What do you expect when you download leaks? I guess thats the risk for downloading leaks.
what version was your Z30? Mine shows 10.2.0.210, which Link is saying is older than my Z10's 10.2.0.1747. It's on Bell, and the Z10 was a -3 device, while the Z30 is a -5 (not sure if the versions are different on the different Z30 models?)
I switched from z10 with Telus official 10.2 to z30 Telus 10.2. would not restore, lost everything in Remember app except the stuff that is in Evernote itself. Phone log gone and had to get contacts from Outlook. Outlook cloud (free) email does not seem to allow more that 3 different emails for a contact (work, personal, other.) so 2-3 dozen contacts are totaled. Closest retail outlet is an hour drive away and this is not much fun.
