    Hi and welcome to CB!
What exactly do you mean the Z30 can't enter into it?
Do you mean to share files? Are they both on the same network? Do you have the drive configured in BB Link for wireless access?

Are you trying to use USB OTG? If so, the hard disk connects to the Z30 with a USB OTG cable, and the hard disk has to be formatted with the FAT32 file system. The hard disk also needs its own power supply.

I just received a USB OTG cable today and successfully accessed a USB memory stick. I'll also try formatting a hard drive with FAT32 as a test. I'll let you know.

    Update 1:

    USB Device Problem
Go to the Storage setting for details

    Tried an
external 320 GB Western Digital hard drive as well as an Agility 128 GB SSD, both formatted with exFAT (FAT32 will only go to 4 GB), and both connected to an external power source. Neither drive worked with the Z30 via USB OTG. Then, found this thread (read Post #9): http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...eature-899103/

Also tried a 16 GB Lexar USB3 thumb drive and this did work.

    Update 2:

Uh, check out BB KB34983 that explicitly says the hard disks are supported: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB34983

Extended FAT32 can format a SSD or HDD up to 4 TB. I formatted my SSD to 128 GB and the Z30 connected to it without external power for the SSD via the standard USB OTG cable. It showed the SSD as an USB device where the individual file size is limited to 4 GB.

Brilliant! I quickly re-formatted my SSD & HD from ExFAT to FAT32 using the free AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 5.5. Last night, I used the Windows command line to format the drive to FAT32 but Windows would get to 100% (after a very long time) and then complain that the volume was too large and quit. AOMEI did it in seconds and I was then able to read/write files to both the 128 GB SSD & 256 GB HD using my Z30. (However, my SSD does require external power.)
