Sigh. I already did the whole security wipe thing. I can't do without my phone for 24 hrs I don't have a backup. I left it idle for 2 hrs and lost 10 percent of battery. Maybe if soccer was on all day I could go 24 hrs

When you uninstalled all your headless apps and your email, and rebooted, what did your current cpu system item settle to? Did you get 5 or 6%?

She did the exercise a few weeks ago, battery life improved from 5-6 hours to as it is now 12 hours. I would suggest to load OS leak 10.3.1.1949, in general it has better battery life over 10.2.x and secondly perhaps she will get network mode 2G and 3G, assuming it is not locked by her carrier.

I have Tmoblie I can't manually change it to a specific speed so it's on 4GLTE Or 4G 99% of the time

How was it possibly a month ago?
It was just a few days ago that we told you to uninstall OR deny the "run in background" permission for apps like ultimate backup and phonetap

    Lol?
Are you going to do that ^ and post a screenshot of your current cpu usage? Or..not?

OK. But this is the simplest way of determining once and for all if it is your OS, your device, or your apps that are causing the problem.

If your device can idle at 5% cpu with no apps running or pim syncing going on, and the radio off, then all is well. It is then a matter of figuring out which app is causing the problem, or whether your email setup needs to be adjusted.

If it can't settle to 5%, then it is your OS. You need to run an autoloader or perform a security wipe.

If it does settle to 5% and you still get a lot less than 12-18 hours, then it's your battery.

Yes you can. Go to mobile network and set via drop down.

Grrrrrrrr. I'm so over this battery life-img_20150104_140953.png

You can select 4G/3G/2G and it will keep phone from going to LTE. 2G will keep it in E or GPRS.

Your real issue appears to be Whatsapp is a pig of an app, or you are on it constantly.

If you are getting 12 hours with Whatsapp and PIM eating almost a quarter of your battery, then the battery isn't the issue.

Yeah 2G is slow as can be. If you set it to an option with 4G but without LTE and are running in HSPA+ mode then it should be pretty fast.

Yea.. well either you just don't want to fix the promlem or??

    Delete ultimate backup and phonetap..
How many times do we have to say that those apps are killing your battery?

A)Deleting them *should* NOTICEABLY increase your battery life.
    B) Again, if you don't want to delete them, disable their run in background permission
    C) If you don't want to do A or B.. you've chosen to accept your mediocre battery life..

Let's keep it simple. Do you use them? No? DELETE THEM lol..
That's: delete ultimate backup + phonetap +whatsapp = problem solved

Don't delete whatsapp if you use it.. but accept that whatsapp is quite possibly the main cause of your drain.

Yup. But this may be your culprit. I found that in places with weak LTE coverage my phone tries to boost its signal or something and drains insanely quick. Good signal and I can go 12 hours no problem.

    Aaaand I'm using a Z10 so...

EDIT: For reference I have 3 emails, facebook, and BBM actively requiring some sort of syncing in terms of accounts. Groupme also runs in the background although it never delivers any notifications so I honestly don't know what its doing.

Z30 is the longest lasting smartphone I've ever had (coming from Nexus 5 and Xperia lines of Android phones). It's battery easily last thru the day, so I think there's something wrong with your phone, better have it checked out

Ultimate back up and phone tap was just recently installed I've been having this issue since I had the phone. As I said I'm not a heavy user whatsapp is the culprit which makes no sense because it's not like I'm on whatsapp all day. My phone is mostly idle for long periods of time. So I figured I should be getting more than 12 hrs

"Display" is at the top of battery use. The screen is being turned on by something for some reason.

Please check or post a picture:
settings > display > screen timeout
security and privacy > lock screen > turn on screen for new notifications (off)
security and privacy > device password > lock device after?

Also, is your wallpaper a light colour?

May seem like an easy question, but do you click the power button to turn off the screen or let it turn off by itself?

When idle, is your screen touching something e.g is it in your pocket, face down on a surface, in a pouch, flip case?
