Can't believe you have to unlock the screen when navigation is previously engaged to see the map. Some things native to android are just taken for granted I guess.

That actually depends on which app you're using really be it a native app, a headless app or an Android app but since you neglected to even mention what app, you just left us all guessing about your frustration.

When in driving with my maps app opened, the screen and the app stays on active!

Really you gotta pick your poison.


You want a gps app that won't keep the screen on but won't lock the device when it's active.

Seems like a this could be viewed as a security issue.

Personally I wouldn't want to use my gps, forget I have it open, and now my device is not secured should I leave it unattended.

Obviously it's not an issue for android users.Blown away by how complicated this is turning out to be.
A quick tap of the lock screen key pops back up with the map but if you want to exit or use any other features aside from gps, it will put you back to the lock screen mode.

Really ? No BB apps offer this? The developers need to use some android to see what refinements they are missing
