All the added downloads of their products today with the release of our new OS.

They may have noticed a spike but there's likely not enough BlackBerry 10 units in circulation to make a huge difference. And not everyone downloaded the update today to try Android apps.

Well there are about a few million bb10 devices around the world now so I'd say that a million people upgrading to play with droid apps is a pretty big deal.

Problem is only Crackberry enthusiasts know that the new OS runs apk files.

I have more than enough apps on my Q10 as it is right now, probably 70. Of these, I use, maybe 10!

I don't think I will be rushing for more apps.

Some of the apps don't work.

    Not stable.

Heck even the latest version of Snap times out and shuts off by itself while using it

I just upped to the Z30 from the 9850 Torch, and am a bit concerned regarding the Andrtoid apps to be loaded directly into the BB OS 10, as in, no security checks on the .apk files, and this can open up the world of Blackberry to security issues. Not to say they don't have 'em, but this just opens the door. That's one of the reason I stay with BB, the security for me and work.

    Security is an issue yes.

    Not going to debt that.

BUT for me; can't speak for the majority, I am only looking for very specific apps. I always go to BlackBerry World first. If it's not there then I look android.

Case in point, Netflix. That's it. No games for me.

I believe they operate in a sandboxed environment.

Thanks! I REALLY hope that is true, but I think I will will wait and see about this update.
I was with the stock OS release on the 9850 Torch (OS7) until I got the Z30, tried the "updates" for the 9850 and they always made it worse (Battery for the most part, thanks to "WiFi hotspot garbage).....

It's a good feature, but for some, like me - mostly novelty. I like it, don't get me wrong, but aside from the obvious consumer popular, bigger apps, there's not that much quality to be found.

Yeah, that's why I bought an "Andy" tab, Hisense Sero Pro for those this, but mainly for Netflix and Chromecast. Got 3 Chromecasts running in the house and all is fine thank you, just for running Andy apps......
