I am going to Europe for a business trip, and I already have a European power plug along with the US USB Charging adaptor.
Would it be safe for me to just snug the European power plug over the US one and then charge my phone like I always do using the micro USB cable?

On the BlackBerry charger plug it indicates (100-240v).
But I need to verify this from the experts here if I am safe to just snug the white European plug over the US plug without using any additional transformers.

In the image, the black is of course the BlackBerry charger that came in the Z30 box and white, is just a European type plug.

Now, I used the European plug before on my Galaxy S4 with no issues.
But since I just got the Z30, I just want to be on the safe side.

    Thanks

Anything with an output up to 2A won't fry your Z30. I used the PlayBook's charger as my default wallcharger till recently.

I miss the days BlackBerry would pack all possible charger plugs in yoru box.

Nope no problem, Europe uses 220-230V so you'll be fine Where are you heading?

    Oh Wait...

I also have a European HTC Desire charger as well with an OUTPUT= 5V with 1A
    As for the INPUT= 100-240v ~ 200mA (50-60Hz)
    Will this also work??

It will work cause the adaptor will convert to the proper voltage for your device.

But don't do that for stuff like TV or hairdryers !

Unless your bathroom accessories (hairdryer, shaver) have a little 110/230v switch on them.

Most of Europe ARE using the 220-240v. Trust me, I go there every time.

So, I just want to be safe and I will ask this again if you guys don't mind because I do want to take the European HTC Desire charger with me as opposed to the other one posted from the picture. Its funny, because right after posting this thread, I found my old European HTC charger.

So will this work by looking at the details below?

European HTC Desire charger as well with an OUTPUT= 5V with 1A
    As for the INPUT= 100-240v ~ 200mA (50-60Hz)
    Will this also work??

Yes, that charger will be fine. The important number is the 'Input Voltage' provided your charger is rated for a maximum input voltage of 230/240V, you are ok. Chargers are electronic now, and will effectively 'detect' the input mains voltage, and transform the output accordingly - there is no need for manual switching or the use of any additional transformer - just an adapter to allow the charger to physically plug into the socket in whichever country you are visiting.

    Thanks so much!

So in this case, I will go ahead and take the European HTC charger then.
