Don't know if mine is refurbished or what. The backing on my phone just feels like a smooth plastic/rubber, and it's kinda slippery. It's a Verizon phone, and I know that the backing may be different because of the wireless charging. Any thoughts?

My back cover has smooth but soft feel. Not rubber.. feels more like smooth neoprene

To the best of my knowledge, only the Verizon version of the Z30 has wireless charging.

It may just be a glass weave "look." Whether it's real or not it has to have a coating on it so it's not raw material that will collect dirt or get damaged easily. I dropped mine onto concrete a little while back and the corner/edge of the back got some nicks; hard to tell but just looks like plastic underneath to me.

By the way anybody with a Verizon model Z30 in black that needs a brand new mint condition battery cover, I've got one. Ordered a replacement for mine from a seller that clearly indicated it was not compatible with the Verizon version, photo showed plain version - opened the package and it's the Verizon cover. Doesn't fit my non-Verizon phone, and it even has the freakin' Verizon logo on back...almost not worth postage sending it back and they don't wanna cover that even though it was their mistake.

My mistake I guess, but I thought it had the textured weave back cover. It's about the only thing I don't like about the otherwise magnificent Z30.

It is a 3D carbon fibre print with a soft touch feel.
It's not like the Z10 back, but it has some grip in your hand.

And yes, the Verizon STA100-3 is the only Z30 capable out of the box for wireless charging with a QI charger.
