so im going home to my brand new Z30, pretty amped right now(excited) but im quite flustered with the whole thing, i sit on my comp reading different post. Downloading Leaks, Apk files, i think its called, BAR files. sideloading, different must have apps and what not (BB ones).. trying to make sense of it all is confusing me, so i was wondering if some of yall would be kind of to help a brother out, don't want anything to go wrong.

Turn it on, follow prompts, enjoy. No leaks, no sideloading and it is still the best phone ever.

My 2 cents; don't be afraid to get acquainted with that phone as it comes and take your time before installing leaks and side loading. It's awesome out of the box.

I'm far behind most of the guys on this forum, running 10.2.0.1767 on my Q10 and Z10 and I challenge anyone running a more recent leak to prove they love their phone more than me!

    Great purchase, I'm jealous, enjoy!

No need to install anything other than the latest OS through in software update section. Leak and stuff can come after.

Leave it as is 10.2 is great and stable

    RTFM

I worked my way through the video tutorials on the BlackBerry website. Takes a few minutes but worth it.

I subscribe to the in BlackBerry and the BlackBerry help twitter feeds. Useful rips come up but they do repeat

I resist the leaks. I have tried side loading buy never use the aide loaded apps. The comments from leak installers here make me want to stay away.

And of course a redundant suggestion crackberry.

Also you will discover gestured that are not documented part of the fun

FYI, when installing leaks make sure you're downloading the correct auto loader for your device. Easiest way to find out is to type the following into any text box:

    Myver

    Excited...but confused-img_20140110_125536.png
And you should get something like this:

    Z30STA100-2/10.2.1.1925

    [device model/os version]

As for apps, get the apps you want. A quick search on this site will show you some app roundups to get you started. With the latest leak you can install *almost* any Android app you want . You'll just need to source the. APK files yourself (please be legal ) .

    ----

When you start your device for the first time, follow the prompts and tutorials. If you're still flustered about the gestures and what you can do with the device, look through the help app with the helpful videos to keep you moving.

For the first few days-week, your device will be busy indexing your accounts etc, so your battery performance may be reduced, this will ease in time and get so.. so much better

    Enjoy!

Since your phone is still new..
Installing 1925 leak immediately will make you NOT comparing between official OS and leaked OS. Best way to have a new phone with ZERO restoring and LATEST unreleased OS.
Sideload Snap in case you couldn't find the app you wanted in BlackBerry World.

Remember that leaks and all that stuff are for advance users that are willing to take and accept a certain risk that things can go wrong.

I would suggest, get acquainted with your phone first, then if you want to be really on the cutting edge, go with the most recent leak.
