I've had my z10 since day 1 and it's been flawless, I like the phone but I'm getting bored with it. I got excited about the Passport of of recently but after seeing how big it is next to an iphone I just think it's looking HUGE in size. I never looked into the z30 much so I was just watching some reviews and doing some comparisons and although it's a real nice piece of hardware that might get me out of my bored slump, it really doesn't have any impressive numbers over the Z10 that I already have other than perhaps battery. Hell, it's not even slimmer in size. So basically I'd be buying one for a change in appearance, a bigger screen and some battery life. I've also thought about an S5 but I really enjoy how the blackberry OS operates as far as unified hub, multi tasking, etc.

So, would a Z30 be worth be spending about $400 bucks and buying one? Has anyone gone from Z10 to Z30 and thought it was worth it?

My transition from Z10 to Z30 cost more that $400. Worth every bit to me. Battery battery and screen size made the deal. The larger keyboard is a big bonus.

In short, yes. If you can wait another 3 months, you might be able to pick up a Z30 for cheaper

Did it take time to adjust to the different sized buttons when typing?

Changing my Z10 for a Z30 was a great decision. If you can go for the Z30 you won't regret it.

I'm in a very similar situation in that my Z10 is working perfectly but I'm a little bored of it. I've been looking at the Z30 (400 EURO approx on Amazon) but am reluctant to spend that amount of money for:

    A larger screen - which I don't want. I can operate my Z10 nicely one-handed.
Better battery - which I don't need as I have a car kit and a rechargeable battery pack.
Miracast - I have no miracast tv.
FM Radio - tunein does nicely.
Better speakers - I don't listen to media on speakers much.

Should I purchase the Z30 I have a lot of good Z10 accessories that would become obsolete and I would then need to get Z30 accessories - BlackBerry case etc.

As an alternative I'm thinking of getting a skin such as dbrand, new screen protector etc to try and renew my current Z10 and wait to see the new devices that come out in the next 6 months.

I am in the same boat but no way would I drop $400 on a Z30. I am waiting until the passport comes out and hoping to get either a Z30 or Q10 on the cheap

@gunnerfitzy, it sounds like you're pretty happy with your Z10 and so I would then say you should be perfectly happy sticking with it. It's a great phone and if it's keeping you happy then more power to you!

@ShaneN., honestly it took me 2 days to get used to the bigger screen size and it was smooth sailing from there. I love this phone. I upgraded from a red LE Z10 and was sad to be putting away such a great phone, but the Z30 is the Z10 on steroids. You know the drill already (better battery, faster cpu, etc.) but I think some people aren't stressing enough how much better the speakers are on this thing. They're epic.

Also, it feels heftier in your hands. I guess this is subjective but now when I pick up my Z10 it feels like a toy in comparison.

DOWNSIDE ALERT --> I have seen a Z30 screen crack. It definitely is more prone to it than the Z10 given the glass bezel has no edge protecting it. Makes for a slick looking and feeling phone, but just don't drop this thing.

    Otherwise, you can't go wrong.

I did the exact same thing. Went from Z10 AT&T to Z30 Verizon. Cost was $99 up front on special and a 2 year contract. Couldn't be happier. Verizon is great but if the Z30 got LTE in more areas with AT&T I would have stayed with AT&T. I was pretty happy with them.

To be honest, every z30 except the version version is thinner than the z10 and has a better feel to it! The processor is much faster and snappier and the screen is not as bright and will deliver so many hours of battery life with such a big battery!the speaker are better than htc m8 and note 3! And the signal is awesome since its the ONLY phone on the world to have paratekk antenna! And the bigger screen is awesome! JUST GO FOR IT! Sorry for the caps, just wanted to get the attention!

    Went from a Z10 to a Z30... best decision I've ever made.

The Z10 is a great phone but I like the Z30 much more. The biggest difference for me is actually the look and feel. It is perfectly weighted and the glass weave back is awesome. People would say my Z10 looked like a toy but everyone loves the Z30 because of the "carbon fiber" back.

I was happy with them on services and prices. Not happy with how they are handling BB 10 devices.

I switched from the Z10 on AT&T to a Z30 on Verizon and it is definitely worth it. I have been with AT&T since their Cingular days and the rest of my family is still in them. I will likely go back if AT&T carries a flagship BlackBerry phone but until then, rockin on Verizon with these speeds.

Faced the same decision: Z10 became boring, wanted sth hotter! Bought a Z30 and played around for a week when I suddenly misses my Z10 and it's benefits:

Battery changeable (unbeatable combination with charging bundle)
    Display definitely brighter and sharper
Main point: the Z30 is just to big for me

Bottom line: You need to fall in love with your z10 again!
    I wouldn't upgrade!

If you're bored with the Z10 I don't see how you would find the Z30 more exciting. I have both and while I appreciate the benefits the Z30 brings, it is the same OS.
