Emailing without adding to contacts

Let's say to want to send a quick email to a new contact for whatever reason you don't wish to add this person to your contact list.
Perhaps add later when you can fully add details the reason doesn't matter.
How can you send an email to someone who is not in your contact list.
Compose pick an email to send from, then enter the email address, all that happens is the entered email address is in red letters and the send option is not available.
The same is true for adding bbm pins, texting a number and so forth.
You must be able to do this without making them a contact?

I just composed and sent an email to an address that does not exist, neither in my contacts list, nor in reality. It worked just fine, and I got a server response saying it could not be delivered. Interesting problem you have. Did you try a hard robot yet?

After you type the recipient's email address, hit Enter instead of looking up the addy. The name should not be red after that, and they won't be added to your contacts.
