It's not the phone that's the issue here I don't think as everything else is fine email wise - but I was hoping to pick the brains of our assorted experts to try and track down what my problem might be.
It's a work IMAP account, not Exchange, and works fine on Outlook and the PlayBook for that matter too. With identical settings to the Playbook, both ports and SSL etc, on the Z30 it receives but won't send, with the email just sitting in the Outbox forever. Doesn't come up with an error message either, just sits and sits. This is on wifi too by the way, so it's not a signal issue.
Any ideas or pointers to something stupid I've done here?
Not working again. Seems to be fine on wifi but as soon as I go to the mobile network it just hangs and won't send. I can receive fine, but can't reply to anything.
Weird. It isn't the port because I use the same one without issue on another email account. Now the one thing here is that the email is domiciled in Thailand (where my client is based) so it's possible that makes the difference in terms of the port.
NOTE: Multiple internet-suppliers have closed port 25 in their network settings, so customers with internet access through these suppliers can only use the internet SMTP-server (outgoing mail server).
Test e-mail
Send a test e-mail, to check if your e-mail has been set up correctly.
NOTE: It fails to send?
- Change to the SMTP-server of your internet-supplier
I did try 587. Having said that, it might be worth deleting and re-adding through 587 and see if that works. I am wondering whether the fact it's a Thai email account and I'm in the UK might have an effect on the ports.
