Question- making decision today if I should go out and get the z30. Currently have the q10. But having a bigger screen interests me. In reading the reviews on Verizon, there were a couple that made comments that the volume of the ear piece is too low. I went to a verizon store to see for myself. One of the reps had the z30 and I used his phone to make a call. Volume seemed fine. Then I went to his settings and noticed he had his volume set at max. Has this been a issue with other z30 owners.

    Thanks

Honestly it depends on what phone you are calling. I noticed on iPhone they are low. Samsungs were good also BlackBerry. That's what I been noticing though.

A little low, but bluetooth is really quite low if you happen to use that.

It was a known problem of the early firmware versions.

Now, volume in ear piece can be brutish at maximum settings...

I guess the question is did this ear piece work okay on another OS? Does it work okay on another device? Does another earpiece work better on your phone?

It's the earpiece on my phone. It doesn't seem to matter if I run the stock os, or the latest leak. When I talk on the phone W/O my bluetooth, the earpiece on the phone is just too quiet. This is so irritating. When I play music, or watch Youtube videos on the phone the sound is nice and loud.

Yet, even when I put people on speaker phone, the decibel level is nowhere near as loud as when i listen to music or watch Youtube.

I don't see too many places to tweak audio sound. In the Phone app, swipe down, Settings, you can change Call Audio. And there's some Hearing aid setting.

    NO, that doesn't help.

I've also adjust the "Call Audio" settings from Bass Boost, Normal, and Treble Boost as well. Treble does help some, but not enough.

Do you have a hearing deficit or maybe you're just not getting it on the sweet spot on your ear? It may just be your phone.

No hearing defits that I know of. Like I said, the audio is more than sufficient when I listen to music or watch videos over the speakerphone. However, for some reason phone calls over the handset earpiece/speaker phone are just too quiet.

It's frustrating having to make sure that I keep my bluetooth with me at all times.
