Just dropped it (in the OEM leather pouch) and the screen is badly cracked. The phone is still working (writing this from it). Can anyone give me any pointers on how to replace the screen?

it's very easy to do! I took my phone apart and had the screen off in 5 mins! all you need is a torx T4 screwdriver. don't worry about getting any special pry tools, your fingernail will work great.

and lucky for you its on sale right now at etrade supply : BlackBerry Z30 LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly - Black

Ordered mine a few days ago, just waiting for the new screen to arrive from etradeparts (China) so i can get this baby back together again like new! Tracking shows its departing from Hong Kong shortly......

I have a question since you seem to have knowledge on this, do z30 screens wear out overtime? Like screen brightness and such?

Just be extra careful when you are tightening the screws. If you over tight them you are at risk of cracking your brand new screen from the back.

It was the pouch. I was a bit disappointed in it. The thing is, the phone sticks out at the top to show the LED light. That was the location of impact.

I had the same thing happen but mine only cracked a little in the top left corner. Replaced it, which is easy peasy, and the replacement died a couple months later so back on went the cracked one. I have since got anther new screen which is different from the one that died so fast.

If you have a vzw model make sure the screen is for it. It's different from the other models.

Well. One day it just went black. I thought my phone died but when I plugged into my laptop link found it like normal. So I out the old screen back on and it worked. I also held the volume buttons to reboot before hooking it up and I could tell it did by the LED.

I bought a brand new Z30 and everything worked great for 2 days then all of a sudden black screen. I thought it was completely dead until I heard notifications! So I hooked it up to the mini hdmi and could see what was happening on my TV. But the weird thing is, the 30 screen being black, was still registering touch inputs. Trying to get BlackBerry to warranty this thing now but tempted to just replace the screen and save the run around.

I had warranty too but would have to be without my phone for who knows how long. So I just bought one I found for 35 bucks. Probably why it died so early.

EBay, Trinacell was the seller. I got my current one from amazon, sold by repairstore.

It's a pretty simple job to replace the screen.
Just make sure you have the right tools and follow some kind of instructional video.
I repaired my Z10 with good results.
