I'm getting a Telus Z30 for Xmas and am wondering if it will work on Koodo. I've been told it may not. Can anyone help?

It may need to be unlocked, but I'm not honestly sure.

Aside from that, the Telus Z30 (i.e. model STA100-5) will certainly work on the Koodo network, considering that Koodo runs on the Telus network anyway.

Just pop in your active Koodo micro sim card and see if you can make calls and use data on the network, and you'll know one way or the other.

Just curious, why not just use it on Telus anyway?

Well, I'm on kind of a tight budget and am paying only 36 bucks a month with Koodo for 200 minutes and 200MB of data with additional 250 for 5 bucks. Can Telus come near that?

A Telus phone would NOT have to be unlocked to run on Koodo. Telus is the parent company of Koodo, they both run on the same network.
BTW. Telus plans do not come close to Koodo.

As you said my friend, I took my brand new Telus Z30 out of the box and straight to the Koodo kiosk. No questions asked or unlocking required. Cost me $11 and change for a sim card. Good to go! I was little leery about spending the money not knowing how it was going to go. Thank you for your help tdaye
