This is gonna sound crazy but I still have the original screen cover on my Z30 that was on it when I took it out of the box. The little red triangle on the corner has finally fallen off bit that's about it.

Why not throw one on for piece of mind. They are so dirt cheap on ebay these days. You can buy a pack of 10 for like $10-$15.

I had two problems using a screen protector on my Z30.

The first was that some of the sensors didn't work properly (mainly proximity sensor so if I took the phone away from my face it didn't recognise it).

The other was that it left a slight ridge all round which really irritated me. On the Z10 it wasn't a problem due to the design.

Now got a flip case which covers the screen when not in use and not had a problem so far (touch wood).

If you love your screen then I'd advise a screen protector as soon as its out of the box! Scratches on such a perfectly clean and clear surface is very simple...

I can say that from experience because as soon as I unboxed my Z10 in Feb 2013, I actually dropped a plug straight on the screen! Screen protectors work! Trust me!

If you search "how to replace z30 screen" you would see many of us have had to deal with cracked screens - not sure if any screen protector would help with a drop, but I feel better with one on.

Just use a pouch, protects it enough for me.

Personally never had a screen protector on my Z30 and it is perfectly fine. No scarches and the z30 looks better without a screen protector.

Would you mind taking a few pictures of your z30 with your case in different angles.

    Thanks.

Used to have one from Skinomi. I hated it when I swiped up since you can feel the screen edge as it is not flushed. I since took it out since I use a flip cover. No scratches so far.

I cannot stand the glossy screens that reflect the sun light, so I always get the matte or privacy screen protectors.

While I never had an issue with broken screen or scratched screen (probably because I also have an Otterbox case), I need the screen protector for the actual viewing reasons.

Also, screen protectors can make the screen more slippery which can make the use of the touchscreen easier.

I've never ever used screen projector's. Always used holsters and never had any problems. Just hope that statement hasn't put the mockers on it.

Depends on what you do. At my work, I do a lot of work with metal fabrication and piping and bits of metal falling into my pocket is a common thing. And even still, I go to the beach as often as I can and sand can be a real screen killer.
If you're frequently in a situation where your screen may be exposed to sharp and penetrating objects, then a screen protector is a most.

I can't stand the greasy look from fingerprints with a screen protector. I had one put on on day 1 and 2 days later I peeled it off and just use it naked now (no screen protector and no cover). The way I see it is why should I keep it in pristine shape for the next user when I should be enjoying myself. If it gets too badly damage I'll either sell it for cheap or just throw it out but I'm certainly going to enjoy it myself first.

I have Ghost Armor applied on all of my devices. On my q10 & z30 I'm using the matted protective film. Generally I use the OEM holster, but I'm going to give the OEM shell case for the z30 a try.

You know you could scrape the little red triangle off quite easily with your finger. That's what I did and used that screen protector till I got my OtterBox.

Like everything else I life, you never need one until after you do...

It is a matter of when, not if.
