    Guy emailed me stating it's a "stl-1"

I'm assuming he meant sta-1, but 1s aren't available. His asking price is 480 shipped. He has tons of bad reviews about items received are not as advertised. He also has thousands of good reviews. I emailed him asking for a picture of the box showing sta-1, but he hasn't responded.

Does this sound fishy??? Z30 ebay-img_20140311_163655.png

Avoid, dude... STL-1 is a Z10... and I'd look first if I need STL-1/2/3 I know STL-1 would not work in some countries and have OS-Update problems not pushed OTA... 480 bucks?? Even for a Z30 too much if the risk of being stolen/blocked BBM-ID etc.
NO! Alarm ringing... chose an other one, not this!

Ask him to open the back cover and take a photo of the model number information.

    No photo. No buy.

That would reveal its PIN... But yeah, if he wants to sell it, he has to!
Can it then be checked? (I mean if PIN has been inactivated? See if it has been stolen?) Just curious...

I'd avoid to buy anyway as said above, but one can push a bit to see how honest the party is... The photo is poor quality and doesn't show the bottom of the device... As if he wants to say "bought/sold as shown"... what he might ignore: Z30 has carbon glass design on back, and Z10 not... so if he pretends he's shown the pic and then sends Z10, he is nailed on that back of the device... But I would not risk it!!!!

If you want to go for it and it is a false ad you are guaranteed the money back. That is if you file a claim through ebay.

I'd pass on this one friend. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I'm so ready to just bite the bullet, switch to VZ, get married, and locked in jail for two whole years. All just to get my paws on a subsidized brand spanking new, incredibly amazing, super sexy Z30! I don't really want to but the Qi compatibility is so tempting. uhh!

Considering the pictures he has, none of them are actual photos of his device. For all we know the screen could be smashed and corners dented. I would stay away from people who don't post actual pictures of their device because you never know what you'll actually get.

If seller has that many bad responses on Ebay... why are you even considering it.... No deal is worth the hassles of trying to get a refund... plus if it is bogus you are without a phone till you get a refund.... why bother?????... save your money and wait for a legit seller to come along....

They said it is a z30. There is really no hassle in a refund. Its not bad at all. Not sure if you want to risk it for that amount of money though. I had some claims through ebay and had my money back within 2 days. Ebay is very shady lately

If you check it out on a desktop, you can see a lot more details. He actually has a very good seller record (99% positive..that's pretty decent) and has been one since 2001. Ebay and Paypal would've booted him before now. Also, he is selling 4 (1 is sold..I'd like to see that buyer's feedback when he receives it).

Also says, they are new in unopened package, so see if he mentions that if he answers about the pic you want. All the specs and details on the ad are definitely describing a Z30 not a Z10 so he wouldn't be able to claim any misunderstanding.

I dunno, if it were me though, I can get it for $600 from a carrier. To but from him from Canada with his shipping, exchange, and the extra warranty he is offering, it wouldn't be much difference.

Like another member mentioned though, you could always file a claim if something goes wrong.

I would not buy something expensive like a phone, or whatever on eBay unless I directly knew who the seller is. I know too many people who have been ripped off. I will go to the local telephone store and pay the price knowing I will have a proper warranty, and support.

    Look again in ebay!!
    I found this :
    http://m.ebay.com/itm/171265465015?nav=SEARCH
Just typed : "Z30 Blackberry unlocked" and it came out!
260 bucks, photos of a working phone, original box shown, even a photo that's unlocked... 16 hours to go from now.
Forget about the one you mailed with... STL is a Z10...
Good luck, have a nice day.

    Agree... doubtful...
I just wanted to point out, there are other devices on eBay... I wanted to make the OP to continue to look around...
I was definitely not "suggesting" to buy that.
