I like a heavier phone. To me it gives a feel of quality.

No. Then after a few weeks and holding it more and more for longer hours, I felt it as "substantial" and almost heavy. But it seems to be helping me grow my arm muscles a bit, too, so that is a good thing.

If you merely looked at the average weights of smartphones on the market, then it would considered quite heavy. It's only 15 grams lighter than the Lumia 920 and everybody seemed to make fun of how heavy that phone is. As for me, I owned a Lumia 920 and the weight was OK for me, although the Z30 feels better in the hand due to a less boxy shape.

First, I don't have a Z30. However I've owned lots of phones (Nokia E7, N900, HTC Touch Pro 2) in the past which were in the same league when it comes to weight. They never felt heavy to me, instead it added a nice touch of premium feel to it (besides the Touch Pro 2), I've had the Z30 only once in my hands and it had the same premium feel.
Yet I can somehow understand people calling it heavy when other phones are weighting 50g less in comparison. However many of those devices also feel kind of cheap.

I find that all phones and tablets by Samsung feel like paper when lifting them. And to me that feels cheap. Z30 is great

I don't find the Z30 to be heavy at all. I think it has a real comfortable weight/feel to it.

It feels well built but not heavy. I'm a small female with smaller hands and have no trouble with it. It did take me about a week to get used to the new size but now I prefer it.

I like the size and weight too.

I've noticed that this forum has some participants who post about the few grams difference.. . It makes me wonder if I should tell them that any other phone weighing the same number of grams would be a good weight but that the z30 is too heavy at the same weight. (!)

Also, I wonder what the purpose is, of thinking about things that happened in the past (!), that no-one can change now (!), that serve no useful purpose in terms of BlackBerry's product development process (!), and that DO NOT help the undecided buyers spring for this smartphone which is the focus of the current query.

    Let's discuss weightier matters. :-)

Batteries are heavy plain and simple. So if a phone is really light, then plan on carrying a charger in your other hand. Iphone users have their cords dangling always looking for the next outlet. I shake my head and laugh. Z30 all the way!

It definitely is heavier than the Z10 but it is not really a one hand use device anyway so the weight isn't really an issue with 2 hands.

Coming from the Z10 it felt a bit heavy to me at first, but after a short while it no longer did. The feel of the phone is very premium.
