My screen keeps reverting to a lock screen. I have set it for 5 minutes, but it keeps happening

You have the screen timeout set to 5 minutes or the 'Lock Device After' set to 5 minutes? They are in different menu's.

Screen timeout is under display settings

For optimal battery life I like to keep the screen timeout short. Like 20 to 30 seconds. The lock settings can be set longer. That's probably where you want your 5 minutes.
