Today I ordered a Z30 from Verizon . Very excited! But I've been doing a bunch of reading and getting more confused as I go. Will I be able to get an unlock code and use it on AT&T (my current carrier)? I know most likely I won't be getting LTE, but for the moment I can live without that.

Where I get confused is with the GSM and CDMA. If it's GSM I know I should be able to do this, but if it's CDMA I have no idea. I'd appreciate any help with this as I want to be ready tomorrow (Friday) when it comes. Thanks so much!!

Ordered from Amazon. It's the Verizon version. Got it loaded the leaked software and through my att sim in. Getting string 4g but no LTE

If it is designed for Verizon...

The 2G is GSM
The 3G is CDMA
The 4G is LTE 700mHz (Verizon specific I believe).

The only thing in common with AT&T should be the 2G.

I think this is all correct. If not someone else can chime in.

I hope that's not accurate or I guess my days with AT&T are about over. I wasn't ready to leave them yet as my wife still has a year left on her contract.

I am pretty sure it is. I know for pretty certain the 3G on Verizon is only CDMA. And I know the LTE is 700mHz on the Verizon version of the Z10.

What you *might* get on AT&T is HSPA+ for "4G". Though I doubt that since the Verizon Z10 probably does not support that. Someone else can say for sure. Hopefully.

Aaaahh yes. So it is -- the Z30. Sorry about that.

Here's a screenshot of the radio specs from the Verizon Wireless site for the Z30. It shows a 700mHz only LTE radio. So I'd bet it's basically the same as the Verizon Z10.

It's not. I am using a Verizon unit right now with my att sim and getting 4g

Mine came unlocked and I just popped in my AT&T sim from my Z10. It connected right away to hspa. No lte.

That is good to hear that it worked for you. I too am getting a tad antsy in my pantsy's waiting for T-Mobile to get in gear. After about a week of normal usage please post an update of how it is working for you.

As Zocster said you probably won't be seeing any LTE. But the reason I ordered from Verizon is eventually I'm planning to switch over to them because of LTE. But my wife still has a year left on her contract with AT&T so I'll stay put for now.
