Wrong. So long as AT&T serves up LTE-band 4 in your area, you will receive LTE service. Take a look at my screenshot above. VZW STA100-3 on AT&T LTE in West Covina, CA. LTE service goes up to a solid five bars within the CBD of Downtown Los Angeles.

Yeah, I read that somewhere. problem is that you have no way to check band 4 based on locations..

Right, there are definitely exceptions such as yours and some others who have reported getting it. But for the majority of users they will not get LTE on AT&T.

We have a Microcell because of no cell reception in our area, so the Microcell is the only signal I've seen so far today. I haven't been out to test the reception in areas where I always got LTE on my Z10. I don't imagine I will get it but will report back.

Right. Slower than LTE but still plenty fast.

Don't Verizon and mobile use band 4 for lte. Or is Verizon blocking band 4 on the z30?

I was looking at the new att plans and here's what they have on their website so seems like Band 4 is around.. but just for some areas I think

AT&T Multi-band GSM, UMTS or LTE Phone or unlocked Multi-band GSM Phone (850/1900 MHz), UMTS Phone (850/1900 MHz), or LTE Phone (Band 2 1900 MHz/ Band 4 1700 MHz/Band 5 800 MHz/Band 17 700 MHz). If using a phone from another carrier, you may need to contact the carrier to have it unlocked. Compatible with Feature phones, iPhone, select Android & Windows smartphones and Blackberry Z10 & Q10.

I have a Verizon z30 and can confirm that it comes unlocked and yes it works with AT&T. In my case I am in Puerto Rico and I am getting LTE without any issues. There is another thread going about this and I posted screen shots of my speed tests.

Don't expect to see LTE here in Arizona but we'll see. Always open to a nice surprise.

I got a Z30 from Verizon "unlocked it" and am using on ATT.... Flawless.... I get 4G and "sporadic LTE"...don't ask me how...

The KEY is bring the phone to an ATT Tech Center in your area to have it "activated" ... tell them that you understand that you will need to get it set up without VMM "Visual Voice Mail".... IMPORTANT... then it will work on ATT fine.

Summing up - no LTE to speak of, no VMM - Z30 on ATT - "Best New Smartphone on the Planet"...

Had mine for 3 weeks.... the Best...

What happens if you don't have it setup without VVM? I haven't had any issues with the phone on AT&T and I have VVM. Or I should say I had... .it disappeared but I think that's being caused by the leak I'm using, 10.2.1.1055.

Would I be better off having AT&T remove it altogether? Thanks!

That is good to hear that it worked for you. I too am getting a tad antsy in my pantsy's waiting for T-Mobile to get in gear. After about a week of normal usage please post an update of how it is working for you.
OK, it's been a week or so since I got my Z30. I'm using the Verizon STA 100-3 on AT&T, running 10.2.1.1055.

Everything is running smoothly except for VVM, which has dissappeared. But I think that is related to the leaked OS and not the phone itself. Haven't seen LTE yet but get constant 4G signal. I'll report back when I get down to Phoenix as someone reported to be getting it there.

Overall it's been a very positive experience. The Z30 is awesome. Again I got the Verizon version with the idea of eventually switching over to them. Their coverage is much better than AT&T where we live.

I am pretty sure it is. I know for pretty certain the 3G on Verizon is only CDMA. And I know the LTE is 700mHz on the Verizon version of the Z10.

What you *might* get on AT&T is HSPA+ for "4G". Though I doubt that since the Verizon Z10 probably does not support that. Someone else can say for sure. Hopefully.

Verizon's 3G network is CDMA, but the global devices that they sell include GSM 3G support for use while roaming. The VZW Z30 supports all of these bands. You can find it in the specs on the Verizonwireless website:

    Network

    • Networks: Digital (Band 13, LTE (700 MHz), Dual Band CDMA (850/1900 MHz)
    • Networks: Global: Quad Band HSPA/UMTS (850/900/1900/2100 MHz) Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

So would VVM work with AT&T on the model number 5 from GSM Nation?

I know this is posted on other threads but decided to post here as well beings it is apparent many haven't seen it.

I have Z30 on AT&T and didn't need anything "unlocked". I merely picked up a micro sim card from AT&T and went about my merry way.

This is the available bands available in the handset. I've yet to get lte but consistently get 4g when not on wifi.

I'm in the Atlanta, GA area
