Wow really needs to be boosted
Posted via CB from my BlackBerry Z30
I wonder if it's all or just your device? Could be a hardware issue on yours?
Many people including reviews say it's too low.

Same here with Telus in Edmonton on Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.641. Not the end of the world as I use the vehicle Bluetooth mostly myself.

I agree that the Z30 audio is to low. Much lower than the Z10. My biggest complaint with the phone. I can barely hear people talk when using the speaker phone, and have to hold the phone snugly against my ear, and turn off all exterior noises such as TV and radio just to hear people on the other end of the phone.
I'm not 100% confident the low volume issue will be fixed via software, because there are android phones such as the Nexus 4, which users have also commented on having low call volume since the phone was released a year ago, and nothing has been done about fixing the sound issue. It's still an issue with the Nexus 4 a year later! I think the manufacturers are concerned with peoples hearing or something, and are intentionally capping the volume levels on phones now.
I have just purchased my Z30 and the call volume is really good, needing to be turned down at times, I'm T-Mobile in the UK if it makes a difference
Does this also apply whe using a BT headset!

yeah i think this needs to be boosted. i believe this is just a software kind of thing. on my STA-2, well it's still quite manageable but i just notice that the call audio volume is quieter than my 9900 or my Z10 but the speakerphone audio volume of the Z30 is.. WOW!
but i can confirm that on BT, it's perfectly WOW.
let's tweet Clewley, hopefully this can be fixed on 10.2.1.
Yep. I also noticed that unlike awesome stereo speakers the speaker phone is pretty low on volume. But when the phone call is in HD Voice mode the volume is okay. So, I guess, it can be fixed with software. Just a slight boost needed. Hope BlackBerry will hear our prayers. :)

Any fix so far?

I am on 1791, and I haven't found a way to increase the audio yet. I do notice that I have a hard time hearing it for being a little low (only when I am in server rooms and other noisy places. I love the quality, but not the volume. I am hoping that another future OS or a soon to be discovered button combo will allow me to increase such audio settings.
I've posted this in another thread before. It is way to low. But it is fixed in the 10.2.1 releases I've tried.
But still a problem in 1791...
The good thing is, that it is not a hardware issue...

I took a call through the earpiece today for the first time since I got it last Friday. The volume was fine. I could hear loud and clear. And, the call was from a pathetic iPhone.

Yes, the problem only appears over the build in speaker (handset mode)

ah glad to know that. yeah i believe this is just a sloppy software issue just like the Nexus 4 when it first came out but then it was fixed few weeks after. hopefully the 10.2.1 won't be too far away now as we do need the fix and the full support for long running headless apps. that's what we call as #keepmoving!
10.2.1 shall come at the end of November....I was told....

New OS build just arrived. 10.2.0.429. Has anyone here got the update? I've got it. Just wanna confirm if you guys feel the same but seems this new build got some fixes over the audio volume. I noticed that it's much better now, well IMHO.
But still I'm waiting for the 10.2.1 here..

Yes. The volume problem is fixed :-)

I'm on 10.2.0.415. Call volume on headpiece in handset mode is lower than my q10. Speakerphone mode is great but not handset mode.
How do you upgrade to the latest os? software upgrade shows the latest for me.

Get the voda UK sim and pop it in. It should prompt for an OS update.
Alternatively you may try to unmount your sim and connect to the Link and just wait until Link prompts you. Or, install Sachesi on your PC and connect your Z to the USB and search for the latest OS.

If you open the phone app, swipe down and choose settings, then go to Call Audio and boost the treble, does that help?
