I have two upgrades on Verizon. My wife and I both want the Z30 (have 9930's now). I saw in a previous thread Amazon has the Z30 and at a better price than ordering from Verizon direct. We both have unlimited data and know we can't keep it so we'll need a share everything plan. No problem but Amazon only has the 700 min plan w/ 2gb of data, no family share plans that i can select. If i buy these two phone from amazon can i then go in to my account and changes plans once i activate the phones or will that cause an issue with Amazon? I don't want to pull the trigger until i know i can configure the plan to meet my needs. So the questions is, has anyone bought the phone from Amazon then changed their plan in Verizon? Please offer advice as i have never ordered a phone but always gone to the store and would like to same some money this time. Thanks.

I recommend you pay full retail and keep unlimited.

If you decide to drop unlimited, switch to share everything first, then do the amazon upgrade.

Peter, thanks. I use so little data, granted, it's compressed, and i just can't afford the out right purchase for two phones. I know I'll use more data with this great phone. I think I'll have to upgrade plans to what I'll want, then order the phone. I appreciate your input, thank you.

I posted about this a few weeks back when the first $99 AMZN deals posted up.

Same issue - unlimited vs having to change. I don't use much data so it's not as much a concern, BUT I would encourage you to call Customer Care and discuss first.

I did, and the outcome (when I make the hardware switch) was favorable.

I bought my Z30 from Amazon!! No you don't need that garbage plan. Sadly, I traded my unlimited data for 4 GB of shared data with my wife, and unlimited texts and minutes, but I got the Z30 for the Amazon price.

Change the plan through Verizon first - DO NOT buy the phone through Verizon. I called up Verizon to do this, but I think you can just change it through your account. You can change your plan up to 3 or 4 times in one month.

Once you are on the Shared Data plan, go to Amazon's website and purchase your phone upgrade there. It will see you are on the Share Everything plan, and it will ask if you want to keep your current plan.
