Our 86 year old mother loves the new call answering for BBM video and phone. Much easier...and I agree.

The new call screen is pretty cool IMHO. I also think a digital rotary dial option would be cool as an option.

People want the choice but I don't think it's as easy as you think. Do any other phones give you the option? I think not.

that's why this option is so important to have a thing that no one else have always feel great

We can always hope. Not coming from a fruit or DROID, I don't know what "industry standard" is. But the old call screen made sense. You saw your contact, you either pulled them to full screen if you wanted to talk, or pushed them off the screen if you didn't. Could all be done one handed with the flick of a thumb. The new way seems counter intuitive because left and right mean nothing to me and I have to read to know what to do, and I need two hands because it is hard to push my thumb all the way across the Z30, while still holding it in one hand, then juggle the phone to get a proper hold on it to talk. BlackBerry is supposed to be a leader and do things better, not a follower that copies the others who did it wrong just because people got used to it and don't want something better.

Industry Standard is that answer is on the left and end is on the right going back to the days of pre-smartphones. They just started color coating it in recent years is all.

the new call screen is good on Q10/Q5 because of the smaller screen...i wish BB had retained the native call screen on the touch devices

I quite enjoy the new call answer functions. It works.... I seemed to fudge up the answering on the original call answer "page" . To me, this is much easier with one thumb. (and it looks just like the call answer stuff on kit kat. ( now Ive done it )

This thread is hilarious....you mean to tell me changing the swiping motion from up and down to side to side and adding some very functional textual replies on an automated basis is a deal breaker for some users? I cannot imagine anyone with a regular job could even give this a second thought....

You won't be getting the old calling screen back. BlackBerry won't change things for the minority.
Posted from my BlackBerry Q10 via CB10
The minority are the complainers that's made a fuss about the screen in the first place.

The majority just adapted and made it work.

I prefer the old screen as well. It always threw people off when I'd answer the phone in front of them. The would always ask me what phone I had. In my opinion it was much more fluid.

Also being a lefty, it wasn't awkward as the new screen.

A post I made elsewhere about the 10.2.1 leak call-screen

In terms if "industry standard" I submit this: my cordless home phone. Clearly is the green answer button on the left and red end button on the right.

    Attachment 237884

Not to compare smartphones to home phones, but seriously I think it's being made a big deal for nothing. Personally I love the design of the new call screen, and though I thought before trying it that I would have issues with getting used to the new method I found it no less intuitive than the old method.

Just to add: It doesn't look a thing like Android or iPhone call-answer screens.

I didn't like it at first when it leaked, but now I do. Don't hold out on 10.2.1 just because of the call screen. This new OS is the shiznit compared to 10.2.0.
