So since this morning my dad is having trouble with his BlackBerry Z30. He left in on during night and it turn itself off tonight. Nothing wrong here but he wanted to recharge the battery this morning. He plugged it in and the phone started to boot, but instead off booting correctly it showed the empty battery sign. Even after we left the phone about an hour charging it still shows the same sign. By now the phone also always reboots while plugged into the wall charger. You only can interrupt the rebooting issue with taking the charger out. We tried several different chargers, took out the sim card, the memory card and so on... nothing helps

Its my dads business phone so he is not all that happy about this big issue. Hopefully some of you can help ?

Is it the battery logo with the lightening flash through it or the one with the exclamation mark through it? Lesson learned here is to try and avoid draining your battery down to zero but all is not lost. Do you have a recent backup of this phone on link? If so, just go ahead and reload the OS either through link or an autoloader.

It just shows "Blackberry" then the red Battery Sign. Cant reload an OS because the phone will not connect to the Computer without being turned on! --> same for Backup.

You can still do an autoload of an OS yes. Download 10.3.1.2072. That's a nice and stable OS in my opinion. Then once that's completed just go ahead and connect the Z30 to computer via USB cable. Select the downloaded file and run as per detailed instructions here on CB as to how to do that. You will see a DOS window open up once the software is unzipped. You will then see "resetting device" and "connecting to boot rom". Here you will have to press the power button a few times maybe until a connection is made if not successful at first. Once that connection is successful you will see the numbers rapidly count to 100 and then the autoload will begin. This may take 20 minutes or more so be patient ok

Use the IE restore option. This works only with Internet Explorer . Open IE, go to Blackberry.com/update. Connect your dead Z30 to PC and click on blue boxed link on Web page to update your device. You may get a pop up box on PC asking to continue update on unknown USB device, click ok. Once the update process is initiated your Z30 may show a green led . Depending on your download speed and upload bandwidth from BB update servers it could take anywhere between 15min to an hour to receive the OS restore/update files. A fresh install of the OS will be done on the device.

The above process is pretty much the same as using autoloader except in this case you are updating or restoring only to the latest "official" OS release through the BlackBerry update/ restore options online.

    Hope this helps.

Sadly doesn't work the way you stated. As soon as it gets some power it starts rebooting all the time. So no connection in any way possible

Gonna send it in now. Thanks for you help !

Try Stack charging... just search for it on the forums.... hopefully that should help...
Stack charging technique was used for the PlayBook tablets!

Hope so that your phone wakes up and is normal again!
