I'm sure these answers have been answered, but I'm hoping someone can help me in one area.

I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy the BBZ30 direct from Blackberry, but I wanted to confirm that if I buy it, it's completely compatible like the Z10 is on T-Mobile. Will everything work? Is there a certain model I need? Etc. Assuming Android apps can still be converted as well? Is there an Android Store app for BBZ30 as well. I believe I heard there was, but I've searched and can't find anything.

    Thanks

You will need the STA100-5. The only things you will not have on this Z30 would be WiFi calling, and voLTE.

Edit: also the GSM 1900 to LTE refarming that TMO's doing. This phone does not have LTE band 2. You will miss out on that when the refarming's complete (estimated to be by end of 2015.)

Hmmm..., maybe I should get the Z10 then (my original was stolen), I use the WIFI calling a lot.

    Thank you for your help

I received my z30 and it works flawlessly on T-Mobile. Keep in mind that wifi calling is not, nor will it be available as they do not support the Z30.

I live in a non reframed area and I get full LTE. I believe band 2 is AT&T, correct?

Band 2 was 2G, but TMO started refarming it to HSPA+, and is now also refarming it to LTE. I don't know the progress on the latter, but their self-set goal for completing 2G to LTE is end of 2015.

But it's also a band AT&T uses, yeah. More for UMTS, but they do have it for LTE in at least parts of NYC.

I have the Z30 and I got it from Shop BlackBerry in the U.S. I'm in Los Angeles and I get 4G LTE just as good as I get on my T-Mobile branded Q10 and Z10. The Z30 I have is STA100-5.

The only thing that doesn't work is the Wi-Fi Calling, but I don't use that anyways.

Should be 10.2.xxxx Once you pop your sim and power on, it will probably download an update and give you the TMobile splash screen upon startup.

T-Mobile splash screen is embedded into the SIM card. I think the version is like 10.2.1.2176 or something around there.

Wish the splash screen could be changed like on Android devices with root access.

I just received my Z30 on Monday. I am on T-Mobile here in LA.

Here's a screen grab of what I'm on. I will update the os when I head up to Canada this weekend. I'll put a Rogers sim in and update accordingly.

A Rogers SIM may not be necessary if you want the latest update now. Just take your TMO SIM out, and check for updates over WiFi. It should (if there is anything newer) since you have a factory unlocked phone.

I just got my Z30 yesterday from shop.blackberry.com and I'm on T-Mobile as my carrier. And I also have 4G LTE as well. I have the amazon app store along with the "snap" app and I'm loving this phone. It's a huge step up from the Z10 in every way possible.

Just got mine yesterday and really like it so far. Although it is big compared to my iPhone 5. I'm with att here in SC and don't have lte. Didn't think that would be a big deal until I was out and about today. Man non lte is slow!! Got a t-mobile card and out that in and have lte and much faster speeds. Going to try to the t-mobile service for a few days out and about and see how their service performs. Might move over to them. Enjoy the new phones.

Just got a Z30 last week from Shopbb and it's the 100-5 on TMo. Everything works except the wifi calling and VoLTE but I didn't really use those anyways. Speeds are just as fast if not faster than on the Z10. This phone is so much better in every way than the Z10, plus I got to install 10.3 leak on the ole Z10 and play around with it, looking pretty good so far, can't wait for the official release.

That might be the latest official build out for the Z30 -5. I just checked Bell's support site and that's the version it shows.

Great. Thanks for checking. I have noticed that the battery seems to be going a lot longer than day 1. I can easily get more than 10-12 of heavy use out of it. Moderate use is easily going a day and a half.

Yeah, that's the version that's pushed to the phone if you try to do a reload on Link.

That's what I have as well... that is the most up to date. I even took my sim card out as Raino suggested and checked for any updates and that is the one. As Raino stated, he's on Bell up in Canada, that build is showing as the most current one on his carrier.
