I had tons of BlackBerry devices, and I can say with certainty that the Z30 is still a very viable option to a lot of other devices out there.

The Z30 is just an extremely well built and overall, a great asset to BlackBerry. Lots of useful features at a GREAT price.

Agreed. I thought I was losing something coming from the Passport, but I find myself enjoying and being more productive with the phone daily.

    No going back for me.

I had the Leap. And at $395.44 out the door, it's way overpriced for what it has. The Z30 is more equipped and productive than the Leap.

My advice ( and opinion) is to save the extra one spent to buy a Leap, and keep it in your pocket.

A Z30 is simply the better choice.

Well, that's true as far as being a communications phone but I recently started using the G3 and OPO and I'm sorry, but there is a very noticeable difference between a 1080 and 720 screen and also AMOLED vs LCD.

I don't enjoy watching videos on the 30 anymore because of this.

The camera (as with all BlackBerry phones to be fair) is only "ok" and that's not good enough, not for me.

That being said - the Z30 is hands down one of the best BlackBerry has to offer despite it being a 2013 device, and definitely competes up there with the Passport.

But for media which is what most slab style phones are typically used for - it falls severely short, except for it's speakers of course, which I feel are the best on the market.

Edit: it falls severely short only because of the app limitation, otherwise it'd be acceptable even if the screen and camera aren't the best.

Love my z30, but still want a passport as an alternative occasionally.

My only complaint is the comparatively low res display.

I still get a lot of compliments on my Z30, most often people asking what brand is it. Then when I start showing them some features, like Hub, Blend and do a Bridge demo with my PlayBook, they really are impressed. I think BlackBerry really dropped the ball on advertising, which of course they've always done with their products in general.

If you ask me, BlackBerry could easily manufacturer a slightly updated version of the Z30 and get better reception on this device a 2nd time around. They just need to find a way to bump up the specs ever so slightly to make the reboot model relevant, without changing the Z30's current pricing in and around the $250 to $300 range. Then market the s out of the Z30v2!

I've always stated the Z30 was the best damn BlackBerry introduced at the companies worst possible time and its evident by its obscurity within consumer smartphone markets.

I can't imagine any device I would prefer over the Z30. I wouldn't even upgrade to a mythical Z35 or Z50 unless my Z30 breaks and cannot be repaired. The Z30 has been the first phone I ever had that was a proper tool and not a novelty that had me jonesing for the next thing after a while.

The Z30 would be arguably better, if the put an LCD display into the device...I would be most content with that. And also keep the glass weave backs for all future BB10 devices.

All Manufacturers are good to a degree. They have to be. It's called competition. If BlackBerry can ever get Android and full Google Play services, they will be good to a BETTER degree...plus have the security.

Hang tight folks. Better things are on the way for BlackBerry.
