The price is way to high... but I wasn't expecting anything else to be honest. BlackBerry has the best OS (even better w/ 10.2), but lacks apps and specs.

We BlackBerry "fans" know that with BlackBerry10 specs do not matter as much as with android, but I don't see BlackBerry selling lower specs for a higher price. Obviously BlackBerry has to recoup some of the r&d money which has gone into developing BB10 but the average end user doesn't care... they simply can't sell their devices at a premium in today's competitive smartphone market.

Marketing has been abysmal, they should have advertised the huge productivity advantages of BB10... however, as of right now almost no one knows how great BB10 is... therefore nobody is willing to spend money on a BlackBerry device when they can get their hands on a S4 or HTC one, etc.

Now, will I get the Z30?
At first I wasn't going to, but after having seen a bunch of positive reviews I will reconsider...
Then again, I am a BlackBerry fan.

Still far too high especially with the state of the company now, this wont be a big seller due to the high price and lack of major apps ie instagram being the most popular.

Blackberry really need to get it through their thick skulls that pricing these new phones at close to 500 is not helping them. Somewhere around 300-400 max is about the right price in my honest opinion. But Blackberry keep making the same mistakes time and time again. At the end of the day Blackberry need to be competitive and if they have to make a loss on these devices then FFS do it.

I will get one but not at the price its being sold at, ill give it a few mths and see if they have dropped in price. At the moment i love my Z10 and am waiting for 10.2 to come out officially, installed a 10.2 leak last night but now downgrading as its causing me a few issues. But from what i have seen on 10.2, its worth waiting for. I'll still have a play with a z30 when i see them as display demo models in the stores here.

You can't compare prices that way due to the tax we pay and generally live in what is termed "Rip-off Britain".

Often what you pay in dollars, we pay in pound sterling.

I get the whole BB is in a bad state argument but the iPhone 5s is selling for 50 more.

Also, people need to stop converting the British amount to US dollars. Things are always more expensive in the UK. So, please compare it against what other phones sell there.

Well, it's about 578?, but I'm sure the price here in Spain won't be below 699?, that's what I paid for my unlocked Q10...
I'm waiting for it to be cheaper before I drop my Z10..

Problem is for BlackBerry is that those phones have a solid user base behind them along with apps. BlackBerry hasn't at the moment that's why people are wondering why such a high price for the BlackBerry 10 phones.

My posts were meant more for those who were converting the UK prices directly to US and comparing them with their local market prices. I also wanted to put it into perspective for those who are lazy to check and quick to judge...With regards to BlackBerry pricing, unfortunately there will ALWAYS be someone complaining about the price. Right or wrong, BlackBerry will set the INTRO prices however they see fit just like any other OEM. I'm sure everyone would like a BRAND NEW device to be priced below a device like a new Nexus but that is not reality. Unknowingly to many, not every company can sell products at a loss like a Google or Amazon.

I remember the contract free Q5 dropping in price from 339 to 229 pounds in a very short space of time - about a month if I remember correctly. My Z10 took 9 months to drop it's price by 50%. I saw a 32GB Lumia 920 from a major retailer for only 220 yesterday. All phones except iPhone head downwards.. just a question of how long. I don't blame BlackBerry for capitalising on the launch price of a new product although I would have more respect if they had the ba**s to go in at a very competitive price to try and get some market momentum going.
