According to the instructions you need to have wi-fi enabled in order to use Protect. I have an unlimited data plan with Verizon and even though I have wi-fi at home, I keep it disabled to avoid battery drain by keeping the
z30 from constantly hunting for a wi-fi signal as I come and go in and out of range.
Question is: will BlackBerry Protect still work if I turn my wi-fi OFF on the device?
    I'm confused.

I see no mention of wifi at all.

    Works on both.

Wireless network does not necessarily mean wifi.

Wifi is wireless Internet, wireless network is in fact any wireless connection...

    Such as a phone signal.

    It's a Gundam!
