This will guide you through how to install a new OS. Be sure to read it carefully and slowly not missing any steps.

Here is where you can find download links to this latest OS:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...evices-929081/

And be sure to use the right download link for your device. If you are unsure come back here and type "myver" without the quotes then tap space bar and it will show me which phone variant you have. You may have already said but I don't remember and can't see while I type this.

I should have instructed you to do this : uninstall BlackBerry maps THEN back up your device without it installed.

After you have loaded new OS and restored w/ Link go to bbw and download maps fresh.

That way you don't risk bringing back the bug.

    Everything went great.

Download soft, upgreated to the newest OS, no restore everything set up from point 0
everything working great, and then booooom the same server 2001 error.

Know i am 101% sure it has to do with the carrier...

I did not unistal maps before but since i did not done a restore i think i am ok. At least i hope so.....

I would try it again by uninstalling maps, back up on link, run autoloader again, restore from link THEN go to bbw and download. Then if problem still there you'll know 100%. Otherwise it could still be something w/i then app & os that doesn't get cleared.

    Strange thing...

With the apps that came with OS i can not find a way to unistall them!!

From the BB world no unistall / delete option when i tap on the app.
And from the screen no garbage icon when i tao the icon.
This is happening for all the apps intalled with soft.
I can delete only those who updated since yersteday.

To delete, long press on the icon until it starts pulsating. Then release and you'll see a little trash can in the top right corner of the app. Tap trash can and it will ask you to confirm delete.

There are a few stock apps that can't be deleted but BlackBerry maps can be.

Let me know how it goes.

Do you know how to use Sachesi? Or have you heard of it? You can use it to remove BlackBerry maps and any other app that you can't get to delete.

I figure it out, but why maps are still there after i hit refresh?

I found something on the net saiyng that by reloading the bar file, we remove the 'permanent' flag, and after
    we can emove the app.
I did all that but still the same thing..

You guys are right! I didn't realize BlackBerry Maps was stock and undeletable. I know there is a way to delete certain apps that you can't w/ long press but I don't know what it is.

I think if you post a thread asking in the title "how to delete BlackBerry maps" someone who know will respond.

It's not always necessary to un-install a core app to get it to re-install and work right.

BlackBerry maps had become very glitchy and almost unusable after a recent update. To fix it I:

*put the browser in desktop mode

*logged into BlackBerry World via the browser

*made sure the device was my Z30

    *searched for BlackBerry maps

    *clicked the download button

*let the phone download and re-install the app

    That fixed my apps glitchiness.

    HTH

That was very clever! I'd have never thought to try that! Hopefully OP will see this and give it a whirl.

Also I have to admit that it was slightly funny reading through and seeing all these great suggestions followed by something like "nope, didn't work".

@fpiliour I know you are frustrated and agitated your maps are not working. But that poster wasn't being a smart pants. He was complimenting how many people are trying to come up w/ as many solutions as possible to help you get your issue resolved.

I think when he said the "nope didn't work" he meant that would be followed w/ another poster with another suggestion to help.

So take a deep breath and realize we are just trying to help.

I'm not smart enough to figure this stuff out, on my own. I don't remember who posted it first, but I read about that process on this site, over a year ago.

Simple solution. Go to Snap and install Google maps. Works really well. Even though I love BlackBerry, the maps are just plain bad. Can not find even well known places. The slightest misspell and forget getting a decent option. I'm in Vancouver, Canada and starts suggesting places in the US, Europe, etc. Google has its bs of adds, etc but at the first hint of a place I have the right option with choices of how to get there. Drive, walk, bike, bus. Simple!

    From my Z30.

On the page where it asks for sign in, top right corner give option to "skip". Just tap that see if that will work.
