I just got myself a Z30 yesterday and i want to keep my battery in top form after such poor battery performance with my Z10.

What are the best battery practices with this type of battery? Is it true i should be plugging in my phone as often as possible and don't wait for it to be below 20%?

Do i need to let it charge to 100% or can i unplug it before it reaches 100%?

I am being told that these types of batteries last longer if they are plugged in on a regular basis even if the battery still has a good charge remaining.

you won't have to , you can charge when ever you want as much as you want , you cant hurt these batteries usually, they don't have a memory.

just charge by the wall charger every night.

So throwing it on the charger a few times a day even if it doesn't need to be charged won't hurt the battery performance?

Almost every battery on mobile phone takes time to calibrate with the phone itself. Mine took almost a month before I actually notice the true performance of my z10 battery that lasts 2 days at most. Charge the battery when it's 20% and below already or when it is already low battery. Avoid short charging coz it damages the battery. Wait for the 100% battery status before you unplug from the charger. And lastly avoid using wi-fi or data while charging coz it consumes large amount of power from the battery.

On a regular day I let my phone die at around 6-7.
I start at 7am btw. Then I allow it to charge it overnight or for about 2-3 hours before I leave for the night.
Is it not the standard battery procedure to completely drain it and then put it to fully charge?
From what I understand that should maximize your battery life and performance.

Lithium ion polymer batteries DO not acquire memory effect ls but can wear out after about a years continuous use. I charge my z30 wherever and whenever. Long or short charge cycles do not matter but continued charging does give you extended ops times.

Took phone off charger cable 6am. Off at 7pm. Social Media, email all push every 5 min. And during morning commute listened to 75min of music playing. General temp cool.

Still at 80% battery life, listening to music on commute home.

Thanks! That's more in line with the general concensus of what I've heard and been told.

Lithium ion batteries do not have memory, but do have limited charge/discharge cycles. From the many articles I have read about this, the battery will slowly lose it's ability to hold a charge over time and it's from frequent charge/discharge. I personally would not charge the battery for short periods and I would not charge many times a day. Probably the best advice is to just charge every night. If you run very low during your day, then of course you need to top off, but I would let it charge to 100% before removing from the charger.

It won't hurt the battery performance, but it will shorten the battery lifetime.

I agree with not trying to charge for a couple of hours, or with doing this a couple of times in one day. I am trying to charge at night every three days. It wouldn't hurt BB to get an exgpert to advise us in our Forums on best practices. Clearly the best battery ever ! TY
