So last night I sold my recently purchased Z30 (kept my passport) on Kijiji to a guy but when I officially sold it to him it was about 75% through the security wipe. I started it a 4:30pm and at 7:00pm thats where it was at. I told him it shouldn't take much longer to complete and not to worry however he just contacted me and informed me that it was still at 94% and its 24 hours later!?

Is this normal? I only used the device for 3 days so it could not have had barely any data on it and when I sold my Z10 last year it took maybe 45mins to wipe......

Chances are it's just stuck...just reboot and see if it starts up again or just reboots normally. Can't hurt anything.. you're wiping it anyway. Of course, you could just run an autoloader as well to wipe it.

I'm the guy he sold it to. How do I reboot? It's stuck at 96% for the past 3 hrs now...I don't want to brick the phone at all.

You can just let it continue. It will eventually work. I've seen it take 2 full days before. That's why I always suggest using an autoloader first.

I reloaded my Z30STA100-5/10.3.2.2252 the other day, after 6 hours it was 97 %, I pressed the power button to turn off and restart and it went through and completed the reset without fail. You can easily search the forums to see that it's pretty safe in that you shouldn't brick the phone with the power off or hard reset (volume up and down keys pressed together at the same time until power down) . Hope that helps.

No problem to just reboot it. It will work. Otherwise you can do a autoloader and it will be OK.

This is unusual. I did a security wipe on my Z30 after I received it from the eBay seller, and it only took about an hour tops. Mind you there wasn't a whole lot of app data on it to delete, but still. What you are dealing with is a bit extreme.

One more night and then pull the plug and use an Autoloader or BBLink to load the OS.
