    My phone is connected to my PC via a USB cable. BlackBerry Link says it's connected and I can see my files through BB Link. But when I click backup, I always get "Verify that your device is turned on and connected to BlackBerry Link and try again."

    I've restarted both the computer and the phone, but I got the same error. Any ideas?

    This is a long shot but are you signed into your bbid in link? Click the sign in button at the top. If you are signed in it says sign out i think.

    Going to go out on a limb here because it happened to me...I was also connected via WiFi with the device I was trying to backup. This wouldn't allow me to backup. After I turned off the wireless setting in Link for that device it worked. But I vaguely recall having to do something with mass storage mode (might have had to turn it off). Figure might as well mention just in case it works for you.

    I think there have been more reports of similar issues with that version of Windows.

    I've also read that turning off WIFI can sometimes fix the issue.

    You can also try using Sachesi (in Leak OS subforum) which has a backup process.
