I use my Z30 for Web Browsing and media streaming which can drain a lot of batter power so I tend to charge every 4 hours or so when it gets near 50%. It is better for the life of Lithium-Ion battery to charge often when it is at higher percentage. e.g It is better to charge it from 80% than from 40%. You will use less charge cycles and have more juice to play with for less charging time.

Interesting calculation. Of course you will need many more charge cycles with this.

How the heck do you guys get your Z10 to last until bedtime? I'm usually charging mine up at 5PM, and that's with fairly light use.

Been plugging it only once which is just before I sleep. When I wake up I remove it. That's about it. Moderate use which brings me to about 30% just before mid night from 6-7am start.

I usually just wait for it to be fully flat before I charge the battery because I'm worried that I might get that battery life issue which it gets drained really easy. I don't know haha

I plug it in before I sleep, so off the charger in the morning around 7am, on the charger at night around midnight. On a busy day it usually gets down to about 30% by midnight.

I have had the phone since launch day in Canada, and I have not noticed any negative impacts on the battery thus far.

This is my typical usage cycle. Every once in awhile, I'll fall asleep before plugging my phone in. I'll plug it in when I get up and leave it until I leave for work. (about 45min) Luckily it charges fast. The lowest I started out with was 36% and it got through the day until I got home at 5.

I never charge any of my batteries while on my phone. Got a charger bundle, whenever I ran 20%, I swap batteries, and thats every 9pm.. I charge my charger bundle for two hours in the office. Once the led goes solid green, I unplug it then.

Don't you worry about the USB port?

I have a Q10 with 4 spare batteries, so lately I've been using the charging bundle and just swapping batteries.

Once in a while I plug in over night too.

Never had an issue with the usb port on any phone. Had this charging habit since I got my bold 9900. Had that for a couple years. Then a z10 for almost a year now the z30.

I don't charge my device until it runs down. The highest compromise I would make is when the bar turns orange. But I normally let my bar turn red.

By the time I get home it's usually around 10% so I charge but this is the first phone I've ever had to last me through most days so I'm impressed. I could probably do more to make it last longer but it's nice to not have to.

Normally I recharge when my battery goes under 10%. After the last update to 10.2.1.3247 (which is the only time I went OTA) my battery life sux big time now. Don't have a clue why cause I have my Q10 from May 2013 and always had awesome battery life. Personally I think the OTA update is the culprit cause normally I go through BlackBerry Link for an update after I make a backup. This time I thought it was not necessary cause the update was only 17 Mb and my battery life is screwed.

A phone in the bathroom won't last long, even if water comes nowhere near it.

I'm a 73 year old practicing nuclear geophysicist. I charge my Z30 wirelessly using my TYLT charger every 3 or 4 days (at night). After the dust settled in a week, it fully charges in 3 or 4 hours. I thank God I didn't get into cell phone design - way too many different kinds of users and variables I don't think anyone has answered the original question. Both Verizon and the NSA know the answer, but they ain't talking. Oh well !

Never had any issues with phones in bathrooms. Taken every phone I've ever owned in there. Not sure why you are having issues with it. Pro tip: don't pee on it.
