Take a look at "headless apps running in the background":
Ten ways to extend your BlackBerry 10 battery life | Inside BlackBerry Help Blog

I remember installing a text app ( I think it was a free givaway LOL) that connected to BBM that ran headless. It affected % system, display, and BBM. Once I uninstalled that, my battery life was good again. I think from the CPU tab, you can tell when the apps start up. Then go back to battery drain and see if it correlates to the same time frame. For me, battery life supersedes any app that I may have installed.

That's true but you might see a trend or an app or process that is using appreciably more cycles.

That generally would mean that you have apps/processes "in memory" but they are not running or using the cpu (central processing unit).

In my case IDLE: while I have the Kindle app open (an app on the home screen), it is not doing anything. Others, Assistant (the help app is always present but it not active), BBM, BB Blend, BB Bridge .... and others are all "running" (in a manner) but are all IDLE.

But you probably have some apps showing a Percentage. Those are actually doing some form of processing and probably using the battery, too.

You will probably have to keep monitoring the situation. When you get the high %s, long press the app and it will give you a graphic battery/CPU use profile depending on what tab you are on. Then just uninstall the app if you can and see how that affects your battery life.

And you are still getting excessive battery drain???? If so, you will need to experiment with bedside mode (e.g. notifications), flight mode (e.g. radios), turn off radios (data, Bluetooth, Wifi) when not using them, etc. If you have never had good battery life, you must have got a lemon and maybe you need to return it.

Most likely because of some apps you installed. My average battery life was around 1 day 3 hours. I have since installed many apps from BBW and Amazon, now the average battery life is just 15 hours.

Glad to see your problem's solved, but for anyone reading this in the future, possible causes can include too small device storage. As soon as that gets under 1 GB, you need to get rid of as much of it as possible, as well as factory reset. This did wonders for my Q10.

Just found out that my 64GB SD card was causing high system CPU. Removed it, did security wipe and all is well
