Had my Z30 for a few days now, and all I can say about the battery life is: WOW.

Took it off the charger at 100% yesterday morning at 7:00AM. It is now 12:15PM a day later and I still have 30% left. This is with Facebook, Twitter, 4 email accounts and other random things running on the device. I can't believe it!

That is very good to hear, and the main reason for switching to the non-removable battery.

How long does it take for the device to settle in? I'm on my third day now, and I'm really not getting any better battery life than I did on my Z10.

You have completely charge it and let it discharge til it turns off by it self. Do this a couple of times.

No, that will make no difference at all. These devices do not use 1990s batteries.

And for the record, before that I was in the same boat. I was like "WTF, so much for improved battery life!" Then, BAM!

If anyone has a fast battery drain...
A soft reset/restart solved the problem for me...

Press volume up and down at the same time till it resets!

I spent ages going through a checking side loads and native apps for permissions etc after I noticed the cpu usage was around 50% with no real joy until soft reset...see pic attached and note before/after cpu spike!

After the reset...1 and a half to 2 days use is expected and is brilliant!

So today took it off charge at 6am...I streamed music to my Bose Sound link mini blue tooth speaker (amazing) today from 8am to 5pm...couple of phone calls 40mins or so, but of bbm...ing and crackberry.comming...
BOOM 40% left at 9pm ...amazing! freaking love this phone! <3

You aren't doing it for the battery, your doing it for the software that figures how much charge is left on the battery.

Personally I took it to 5% the first time, 11% the second and will probably run it dry next and then always charge it once I hit 10%. Manufacturers never really say how they configure the battery and what the low voltage cutoff is. Wish there would be some mention.

I have my mobile hotspot running pretty much relentlessly and my battery life is pretty decent. I'm always using my BlackBerry device for everything, so I don't ever expect a battery to last. This Z30 battery life is awesome. No questions.

Just threw it on the charger 36+ hours later and it still had some juice left.

    Color me impressed.

This creates a screenshot on the Z10. Was this feature removed or changed in the Z30? What would a "soft reset" be on the Z10? Is that the same as pressing the top lock button until you get the option to reset?

Tapping both buttons does a screenshot, holding them for 5 resets the device on both the Z10 and Z30.

This method resets all Z10's except for the STL 100-1.... you have to hold down the power button until you come to the blue BlackBerry loading icon...
