So, I've had 2 full work days with my z30 now. Today was a project day for me, no time at my desk so doing everything from my z. Off charge at 5.30 am and been used all day for calls and emails, attachment viewing and cracker surfing here and there. Home now at 6.45 pm and got 60 per cent battery left. My old z10 would have been about down to orange battery logo by now.

I can't see this needing to go neat my car charger at all!

I'm a heavy user for both calls and data (email and attachment reviewing, in addition to using GPS). Z10 would normally be in the red zone by 3pm. Screen brightness, LTE, bluetooth, and wireless are all default and active. I've done absolutely nothing to optimize battery use. I don't need a charge until 8pm so far at the earliest. Most of the time, It's still 25% by the time I put it on charge at bed time (10pm). It's off charge around 5:15am.

It's worth the cost alone just for this IMO. It's just too bad it took this long to get a device that could stand up to a corporate power users needs. Oh well, worth the wait.

It's great I can leave at 8am and still have about 20-25% left by 12am, 16 hours later with moderate usage. Could not stand to use the Z10 anymore after being spoiled by this battery life.

I can totally agree. The battery life is the best I ever had.
Detached it from the charger at 7 a.m.
It lasted till midnight, with still 16% charge left.
I made about 40 calls, in total 1 hour 30 minutes of talk time.
Used it as Hotspot for a few minutes and the notebook sucked 900 MB of data over it.
Then of course some messaging and webbrowsing (in total over one hour at least).
And some posts here at crackberry :-)
Despite the display brightness is at about 80%...
Ah and about 1 hour of music and streaming via TuneIn Radio.
Took some pictures and showed some...

    That's what I always wanted.
    Perfect....

Sounds pretty impressive. But I still don't like large screen. I guess 4.2" is the largest size that I can accept.

That's pretty awesome. It's always good to see a phone last so long.
Reminds me of the old days with Nokia flip phones.

Came here just to add to this post.

    The battery life is AMAZING!!!

Sometimes i wonder if i am being tricked.

I unplugged the phone at 8am yesterday morning and at 3pm today after slightly below moderate use (phone calls, bbm, whatsapp, skype, web, Blaq, email, SMS) i had to finally charge the phone.

I also logged 19hrs on above moderate use (all of the above + 1hr 30mins skype video call, nearly 2 hrs talk time) all the time running on 4G (and minor wi-fi of course).

I am still not sure if this is real, but it has been pretty impressive so far and the added processing power is welcomed.

I was never ever a fan of 5 inch phones, but the z30 is what should have been launched first....i still however love my z10, but it's hard to deny the impressive battery life on the z30.

That is one of five reasons I will buy a Z30, other 4 are:

    5" Amoled screen
4 speakers for a natural sound
    OTG USB Support
    Multimedia exclusive quad core processor.

When this device will land in America ?

man, i envy that battery life. I'm not a huge fan of the 5 inch screen but with that kind of battery it does makes me think twice about it.

    Exactly...
Today again...detached from the charger at 7 a.m. and it still has 27% charge left at midnight!!!
I did some phone calls, messaging, drove through 2G, 3G and 4G areas, browsed the web, shot pictures and so on...
    Amazing...

I am contemplating between Z10 and Z30. I nearly bought a Z10 until the Z30 was announced couple of weeks back.

Battery life is certainly a key criteria for me. Heard that 10.2 improves battery life on Z10 but i am still unable to get credible data on it.

I am not a heavy user but will have 50 emails, 15 to 20 SMS, BBM, listen to tunein radio via 3G for about an hour a day. Phone calls for couple of hours a day. Plus, a bit of photos / videos once in a while. Don't normally browse on the phone, but that's because my BB9380 sucks with its tiny screen size.

Bigger screen of Z30 is an additional appeal, But one concern i have is relatively lower spec screen. With 295ppi, what is your experience about the resolution. I've read about jagged icons on Z30 due to lower res screen. Is it a big deal?

    Thanks for sharing your experience!

I've had no issues with the 295 ppi...colors are bright and videos look great.

Haven't seen any jagged icons on my phone...they are all very smooth.

    Hope that helps.

The battery life matches up to or exceeds a q10 for me and destroys what I got from a z10, with no other benefits I would go for the z30 unless saving money by getting the cheaper device is enough of an issue for you.

It is actually quite weird, I had never had any issues with the size or display on the z10, but when I use one now it just seems too dim and too small in comparison, even stuff like doodle jewels that ate so much time on the z10 now seems too small after having played it on the z30 for a while.

As far as the so-called jagged icons, I have not noticed any issues or found the lower resolution to be a problem, the type of display also makes things look so much nicer than that of the z10.

Thanks. Appreciate you sharing the experience. I am definitely tilting towards Z30. I just hope it launches soon in India. My 2+ year old BB9380 is on its last legs. Have a great weekend!
