I've now used at least 3 different OS's including an Autoloader. I get more hours but still I also get about 20-25% SYSTEM usage each day. I canNOT figure out what causes it.

Your system should not be using that much power. This is taken from mine just now.

What about it? I don't think I get/send that many in a day. I do have two Google addresses, a yahoo address and a Compuserve address. Also Twitter but I only receive and don't send. No Facebook or Insta-anything!!!! No Linked-in, etc

Urban Seattle so it is PROBABLY not bad cell signal.

So far today only13% and I took it off charger at 6am, so about 10 hours. But that seems standard. But then as the evening progresses, it will start dropping and SYSTEM will use more resources/battery.

2 Google 1 yahoo and 1 compuserve all configured as imap I bet? How often are you telling them to check for new messages? Reduce the polling on a few of the accounts if you can and you should see a substantial difference

I would check the polling /setup too.

Compuserve is set up as imap. Use Push is OFF. Sync Interval is Manual, 7days timeframe.

Yahoo is imap, Push is ON, sync is 30 minutes. I will turn that one down.

Gmail1 is imap, push on, sync 30 minutes. My primary so I do like getting the email regularly. This is also the sync acct for contacts and calendar.

Gmail2 is imap, push on, oh, sync interval is 5 minutes. Just changed that to 30 minutes.

Will be putting on charger in a bit.....

Oh, now 15.5 hours or so since off charge. SYSTEM is 22%.

You need much greater sync intervals. Put it At once daily. If you have push turned on there is no need to sync every 30 minutes.

Is there a way to tell which email systems provide PUSH?

As long as the email arrives in a timely fashion, I can increase the sync interval? Okay, but now that I think about it - what does the SYNC interval control?

Not sure here but I think push is how fast new emails arrive to your phone. Sync is how often it sync what is done on your phone, computer to the mailbox, also if you're using the contacts and calendar in how often they sync between devices.

Edit: Although I haven't had your issue with one outlook account, syncing contacts and calendar and 2 gmail accounts only syncing email at the default settings. So it may one of your other accounts that aren't so mainstream.

They won't give you an option for push unless the inbox supports it. What sync does is to literally empty all of your folders on the device and then reseed them from the source.

Okay, as I readjust my Sync Intervals, what's Sync Timeframe? How many days back it holds emails for that account. So 7 Days would only sync/hold/show email from that account for the last 7 days?

    And, again, thanks.
