Hey!

Anyone seen the Asus Zenfone 5?

Okay, so it's not a direct copy and paste, but check it out and. It almost looks like an Android Z30.

I don't like to point fingers about copying, but I came across this new phone in Flipboard and laughed a bit at how similar they are.

The rears of the devices are incomparable, but the fronts are definitely resembling.

Uh, this is a clone. As bad as those Chinese knock offs we occasionally see. If it's legitimate coming from a company like Asus,they should be ashamed. Unless this is what Chen's "no comment" was about lol.

This still probably has a better display than the Z30. It's sad how bad the Z30 display really is. I'm driving my Z10 again after using the Z30 for the past 6 months and I'm floored by the quality difference. Honestly if BlackBerry Z10 did not have such a bad battery it would be a much better device than the Z30.

Actually it uses a 5" IPS screen with the same resolution at 1280x720.

The Z30 screen may have a lower resolution than some now, but coming from someone who used "retina" devices, it is still an amazing screen. You can't see the pixels even if you tried.

I think most would be able to distinguish some pixelation, especially since it's less than the maximum PPI of the 'Retina' level, where the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels from a set distance.

Yeah, I don't agree. I can definitely see the pixels and the loss in sharpness on the Z30. Heck, I have both devices right now with me. The Z10 displays text so much better it does not even compare. The Z30 is just OK. To really see the difference do a comparison with tiny text. On the Z10 the text is still readable. On the Z30 you will lose so much fidelity it won't be readable any more at all. The Z30 needed a 1080p screen.

Having a Z30 myself, I agree with some of the above posts. Heck the Q5 looks sharper in terms of screen in most instances lol.
