As far as I can tell, the 4G is considered to be the -1, -2 and -5 variants (GSM). At least that is how most sellers of the display state it as.

    4G... 10 screw housing.
    Verizon (CDMA) 8 screw housing.

Yay! I got the replacement screen and followed a video on YouTube and was easily able to swap out the damaged display for the new one. And everything works!!! My Z30 is back in one piece and I am a happy camper once again. Thanks everyone!!

Replacing the screen shouldn't have anything to do with the proximity sensor. I replaced my proximity sensor Feb of 2015 and had nothing wrong with the screen.

6 months later my screen went bad. Replaced that. The proximity sensor is still good.

Here is the part that you need for the new sensor.

It's out of stock but this is the part I bought a year ago. Look at the photos so you see what it is. It's basically the entire phone minus your screen and main board.

Yeah I don't know why but it messed up for me and some others too. Didn't even touch it.

    As it did for me.

I don't know for certain why, but I 'think' it has to with with whatever chipset they use in the replacement screen conflicting with something on the device.

Hmm, I just noticed the speaker at the bottom of my Z30 isn't working. Is it possible that it is related to my replacing the screen? Perhaps I missed something when I was putting it back to-be?

Possibly, the speaker is part of the fixing point for the bottom of the screen.
Double check the screws to see if one isn't tight all the way before cracking it back open.
You can also use BBVE to check each speaker channel.

I ran the audio test in bbve and the speaker on the bottom isn't working, I'll check the screws next...

Argh!!!! I dropped my z30 again!! The screen is shattered even worse than the last time. The last time I ordered a new screen it was $65, does anyone know of a better deal on a new screen for the Verizon version of the z30?

Replaced a few lately for friends. All I have found were around that price also for the 8 screw Verizon version. If you find some cheaper post where please

Sorry to hear, I think that is the price to pay. I was looking for a non-verizon screen a couple of times (you sound as skilled as I am at keeping my phone from falling!), and the Verizon screens were most common, and all were around that price (which is better than the non-verizon screens).
As to the bottom speaker, I'm pretty sure that is part of your base, not the screen. Your mic is part of the screen.

Have you tried Mengtor Cell Phone Repair Parts ? Best choice for cellphone Repair Parts and Accessories They have both Verizon and non-Verizon versions for about US $50 for 1; $45 if ordering 2 or more. I have ordered from them before and they work fine.

The bottom mic is part of the screen. It is the thing sticking out at the bottom in the screen pics.

I have the same issue. After I replaced the screen, the bottom speaker isn't working.

Did you figure how to fix it?

I just got my new display and replaced the old broken one in my z30 and it's working great! Screen looks beautiful again! And strangely the bottom speaker is working again. I did make a point to check all the connections and the screws but I didn't find anything so I'm a bit puzzled that the bottom speaker is working again. Happy but puzzled.

I wish I had seen the post about the $50 display sooner, I had already ordered the same replacement display from the same source on amazon as the last time I broke my screen. Thanks though!!
