I'm thinking a wireless carrier store is probably a better bet. Just throwing that out there.

While that would be fine for people who are looking for new phones, it doesn't necessarily show what the general population (those not buying) is using in more normal environments. And the OP was in a repair shop, not a phone store if that's what you were referring to.

This could explain why we haven't seen more bb10 devices on the street.

Only important people have blackberries and they don't waste their time running around waving their phones for everyone to see. Lol

I'm still using a Z10, three of my friends are using the Z30. My professor upgraded from the new iPhone 5 to a BlackBerry Q10. I've seen a lot of people with BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry is out there. Always has, always will.

With decent marketing plus the upcoming OS 10.2.1 OR .2. XXXX, the Z30 will definitely gain traction this year.

That's kinda the whole point of this thread. To see how the z30 is selling.........

No, the point of the thread was OP pointing out that Z30s are out there, not that they are selling. It's a distinction in this case. So it's about observing phone users in a natural environment. Sounds like a Nat Geo show

I live in Northern California and upgraded from a Z10 to Z30 from GSM Nation. Yesterday, I went into a small phone repair shop in San Mateo, CA and asked him " have you seen a Z30?" His answer, "Sure we have repaired three of them in the last month." One was cracked screen, one was water damage, and one was a bad connector.

My point is that if three people in just ONE repair store have brought in Z30s to repair there must be A LOT of people getting their hands on the Z30!

And please don't drag this post down the path of the Z30 not being durable, etc. If you don't understand my point so be it. Jim
That's cool and all, but a billion dollar hardware write-down speaks a lot louder than your example.

The big writedown ($1.6 B) for the quarter ending November 30, 2013 was probably not for the Z30 but rather for the other BB10 models.

The 'rarity' of the Z30 and the pending fascination of why the hell I or we have one is akin to the reaction people have to the fabled Black Amex Centurion card.

As a fortunate holder of both..... I just give the doubters a sly smirk because I KNOW firsthand how good these products are.

I just bought one for my wife and to be honest, the z30 is not much bigger than my z10. It has a really good feel to it, too (and I don't have big hands).
